My favorite part is the averted gaze.
It shows a desperation and rejection of the world that resonates with me.

Now this is an intriguing direction; are you familiar with the art of Ben Templesmith? If not, I think you'd like it. He does some incredible stuff that looks like the direction this is heading.
Your control of the values is impressive. They almost run with their own life, apart from the linework, which is not a bad thing at all. It provides the work with a surreal, multi-dimensional atmosphere, like you're looking at one reality through another.
And, speaking from experience as a haunted attraction actor, I know that fake blood could not have been easy to work with! So, kudos there!

Thank you! I know his work and by taking a look at your gallery I think your art is rather similar to his works. Β

"a bottle of fake blood" lol, it's used really well in this too! How'd you do those "light cones" in the corners? are those actual lights shining on the piece or did you draw/color them in?

They are drawn. I left some spaces of the paper white and coloured the others in brighter tones.

Thank you! Painting with fake blood was pretty fun but some of the blood splashed on my desk and wall. Now my room looks a little like a crime scene. Β

Thank you very much! The lioness is inspired by one of the most beautiful grave monument designs I know, the Sleeping Lion, probably designed by Christian Daniel Rauch.
There are several copys of it located in cemeterys in Germany, f.i. in Berlin and Gleiwitz.

Beautiful.Β I immediately got sucked into the story or mystery of this one.Β I keep looking at it and wondering is she the victim or the protagonist.Β Well done.

Thank you. If you're interested in solving the mystery: She isn't the victim. She's a vampire.

Maybe, I'm very spontaneous about creating my art and use whatever comes to my mind. But I never plan what it will be the next time. Β
