Oh, no- thanks to you for the image, I love it! The passage between hands and portrait is amazing. Was this originally a digital image or was it film, maybe like a palladium print?

Love this shot. Obviously from the same shoot as the photograph that I adored. Have plenty of good to say about this as well but this time, do have some critique to deliver. In art, there is the rule of three. Three is balance. Three grounds of space are the ideal formula for a composition with plenty of depth. This standard changes when it comes to art where the figure is the focus rather than landscape or a mixture of the two. Number one thing that wouldn't done it for me in this was if you might have bent your knees a bit more, which, in my judgment would've allowed the tops of your thighs to be exposed to the source light. (However, I have no way of knowing how your photographer handled lighting in this.) The reason why I think this would've been important is that from your torso under your breasts down, you disappear into the dark background. This wastes the lovely shapes that can be found in your muscular physique. Basically, from top to bottom, it would've been better for me if the tonality was lighter, darker and lighter again. This seems imperative because the concept underlying seems to chiefly rely on the shapes in human form and their interaction with light. Go bolder. Get some darker darks, lighter lights and don't lose the lovely mid-tones. Definitely in the realm of professional, but I think there is potentially for outstanding strength not yet reached.

Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed and honest critique. I can completely see where you're coming from on all points. The lighting in the other image you mentioned is undoubtedly better.

Hope you are well.

Cheers,
Melissa

Luminance
Firstly the luminance on this shot is magical (although by photographic standards I thinks the word is: "dramatic"). To me, it is magical (or just short of) representative of a new/different world beyond the one we live in (in our minds). I guess what I mean is, the aesthetic value of this photograph affords me (the viewer) a rare opportunity to exist in (either through imagination or fantasy) an alternate reality - one where the luminance though dim, is just enough to provide details of the important elements of emotion, beauty of the human body that is woman, the contours of muscle and tone and the mood which are cast in darkness but are illuminated for just 1/250 of a second and indelibly frozen in the visions of my mind for as long as my fantasy or dream lasts in the alternate. In actually, the photograph feels like a warm dream.

Pose
The pose in this photograph is not breathtaking, it's just short of being an attitude as executed in ballet… However it is rich and full of expression and leaves nathing undesired or is it short of being artistic. Theres is a gentleness in the models sense of wellbeing that radiates in sensual pulses of exquisite delicacy like the softness of clouds on a setting or rising sun. Her hand gestures are begging for warmth, are surrendering to and are attracted to the light and somehow tormented as it were by a hope for the lights warmth. It is the same hope that is felt by her breasts, the same warmth that makes this piece a delirium of warm desires fantastically captured as one sensual moment in the continuum of my alternate reality as it were. LOL, i love the pose. It isn't sexy, it is evocative. It isn't naughty, it is 'beseech'ful'. It is erotic, it is sensual. It is isn't static, it is enchanting and it's movement is an expression that you can only feel but no see.

Model
Not sure who to credit more here, the photographer or the model because somehow the correlation seems to put this piece together so wonderfully… The muscles and tone of the model are plain sight fantastic (you are quite well built), with excellent proportions of stature with a figure and bosom I think 'King Solomon' would aptly describe as a Gazell ([link] ), lol… There is "peace in your facial expression" descriptive of contentment and is ironically contrary to the expression of your arms and hands. The lack of luminance below your torso keeps the focus on the emotional content of this piece and keeps the centre of gravity (the straight line between your thighs to the top of your head) clean of sexuality, it's quite awesome!

Technically, I like how you're balancing standing on your right leg by extending your left arm over your head, and using your right hand to complete the expression of reaching.

In conclusion, I without reserve and completely immense myself in the notion that this photograph is absolutely beautiful (it should make you wanna cry than hold your breath) and that, the aspect of "reaching" is captured in a way most dreamers can imagine 'reaching should feel like', i.e warm, subtle, effortless, dramatic with a sense of conscious self alertness and contentment, as if to say: "I deserve whatever it is, I am reaching for…" iAbsolutely loves it

I cannot pass by this picture without leaving a comment. Hope you don't think of me as a monomaniac e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Wink)"/>

I would like to comment on that picture by comparing it with the picture MS7mm from the same set. While the other picture was very cold, sharp and tense, this picture here is all on the soft side. Technically, it is simply less sharp as the other, and this softness matches the pose. The position of the hands, the shadows of the breasts, the shade under the right arm, the mysterious lighting of the hips, all that creates an atmosphere of pure harmony. The cropping is really good, too, and we wonder whether the model comes from a flower or a misty flower lake...

As what the model is looking at ? Maybe she wants to take a picture here and she is just about to form a little square with her fingers to see if the framing would be right ?

This image needs to be in a museum, or somewhere it can be fully appreciated by cultured individuals. Inspirational and sexy at the same time!
The pose, hair, tone and lighting together are a culmination of perfection.
This being my first critique, I am unsure of what to actually say other than what this image brings to my mind and all I can say is what I have already stated.
Perfection. I don't mean to repeat it and I wouldn't want it to go to your head, but I would love to see more images like this from you and/or anyone who is taking notes from your images!

OK, I used this picture as a reference for some oil pastel practicing in Fall 2012 [link] . I am quite ashamed of the result of my drawing. The technique is not rightly used and your shapes are all out of proportion. I still thought I would put it on DA because the original picture deserves as much light as possible.

I promise I will try harder next time I use on of your pictures as a model
