Description
This is what happens when your mother turns the internet off early and you can't sleep.

I was on my laptop, going through the few(compared to the total amount I have here on dA) pictures related to the main RP that *BlaqkStar and I have going on, I realized that there's almost no family-related pictures for the characters. There's just mostly single-character drawings, pairing drawings, or sibling drawings. WHERE ARE THE FAMILIES--

So I decided to draw Seraph and toddler/child!Romeo. <3 You can tell Romeo's still pretty young since his eyes are still dominantly blue here. ((If you don't know, they gradually go from blue to bright, aqua-green, almost green, during his childhood. The aqua-green colour is achieved when he's about 10.))

I took the title 'My Life' from the fact that in the (original) RP, both Ben and Seraph said that Romeo was their life to them.

Though the RP has changed drastically since almost one year ago((I created Romeo on the 20th of March of 2011)), Romeo is no longer the only 'true/real' child of Seraph and Ben... But he still is their life, even just by being their first child as he always was. For sure. <3

Story of my ordeal while doing this picture :

I initially had planned to do just my usual line/uncoloured drawings.

So I drew just Seraph holding Romeo.

But them I'm like 'Nah, I want to make it look better than this. OuO Maybe I should add a background for once.'

So I added the background. I decided that they'd be in a park. They rented the park for the day to avoid paparazzi. :I They'd be taking a walk, and Ben'd be the one with the camera most of the time. So he's not in the picture because he's the one that took it. :'3 Yeah, that bush thingy was supposed to be a rosebush, but... The internet was off so I didn't have any references. OTL I tried, okay.

Once I got the background in, I looked the drawing over. And I was like '...Nah, still not enough. Needs something more. >:I'

So I added some flat colouring. You know, my new usual. Just take the fill tool and fill in the spaces. Nothing big at all.

Then I'm like 'Hm.. It should be a bit more special than that. ._.'

So I added some shading and highlights to JUST THE EYES. Kinda like what I have a tendency to do. Examples -> [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link]

But then it looked weird. With everything else just flatly coloured, and the eyes shaded and highlighted... What the hell, man?

I, after a long argument with myself, decided that I'd fix that. I was like '..I'm going to hate myself for this.... But.. I'll just shade it and be done. '

So I shaded it.

I'm sorry Smosh, but I must say this...
NEVER....AGAIN... At least not for now...

Anyways. After some 3+ hours I finally finished shading it. My hand was numb and hurting like hell and my wrist was also hurting and it had gotten weak. I died. I swear.

But I was proud of the picture... Until I noticed how boring and ew the black lines were.

HOWEVER, I was like.. 'Screw this. I'm going to bed. I'll argue about the lines tomorrow. '

So I went to bed. At 4 AM.

Then I got up at 10 AM, and uhhhhhh yeah there was a lot of chaos that I won't go into details with here.. 8'D;;;;

Then I finally got to go on the laptop at 1:15pm. I looked at the picture again, and argued with myself about the lines.

In the end, I went with colouring them.

So I worked on that for another 1+ hour. GOTHER OF MOD.

Time taken: 7 hours total. 2 hours for the base lines, 1 hour for the lines of the background, 3 hours to colour/shade it, and 1 hour to colour the lines. <>
