Thank you. No, I didn't know I was supposed to leave my construction lines and use pencil instead of ink for line variety. The portfolio outline is quite misleading, and you discover this once you come to the school and find out what it is that they actually want in the portfolio. Poopers.

Damn, that's really stupid. I've been working hard to get my portfolio done so I can get into this program, but I'm having a lot of second thoughts lately.

Are you in Art Fundies now? They give priority to Fundies students, then applications from within the province, then Canada, then outside the country. Draw final outlines in pencil so you have line variety and leave the under-structure in your drawings.

Nope, I'm currently in my second year at a specialized art program, of which a very small number exist in the country. It's in a regular high school, but it's created for mostly high school graduates, and it pretty much functions like a separate entity. Almost an entire floor of the school is just various art studios. We've even have a life drawing class with nude models every week. Enrollment is free, we've only gotta pay for materials. I'm very lucky to have this program in my hometown, heck, it's practically within walking distance from my house.
Anyways, I just got my portfolio done and I'm mailing it tomorrow (the day of the deadline, heh). I live in Ontario so I guess I'm second on the list of priorities, which doesn't seem too bad. Thanks for the tips, I'm really hoping I'll get in!

I've heard there were fewer than usual portfolios this year (less than 800), because more schools have started up animation programs that last fewer than four years. So, chances are greater this year than past years.

Oh, that's cool. I showed a copy of my portfolio to my teachers and some friends, and they all loved it. My fingers are crossed! Any idea when I should hear back from Sheridan?

At the end of the month, if you've been accepted. I've heard they take a little longer to get back to those who did not make the grade.

aaaaah, so cute, I'm going to die.
Very incredibly well done. It takes a lot of courage to tackle something so personal and you did so wonderfully!

This is really a nice clean piece. I can only find one problem with your character turn around. In that the action should be facing to the right because action is read from left to right, so you just have to turn the poses in the opposite direction. Just switch the two next to the middle shot, and turn the middle shot to the right and you are good to go. I'm also taking animation (at the Art Institute of Washington), and a couple of students in my Character and Object Design class also did this the first time we had to do a character turn around, so you're not the only one! I do love the character design itself and the mouse on top of his lovely hat. The suit is very nice and polished.
sorry its a bit long.
