Sure it does. Gender is a social construct, and sex is something as simple as what body you're in. Men have penises, women have vaginas and, in most cases, breasts. Surgery and hormones can change those, making the body match the brain.Β

You can make the argument that gender is a social construct, fine. But sex is not malleable. So I can just as easily counter with: Alright I don't date "girls" I date "biological females." Or I could say: These aren't the men's and women's rooms, they are the male and female rooms. If I get robbed and the police ask me for a description and I say it was a man, they aren't going to look for suspects that identify as men, they are going to look for the people that are actually male.

Like I said, I'd judge based on appearance. I'm sure you've probably just a transgender's face pic (conveniently leaving out the rest of the body) but going by that picture alone anyone would say that's a woman. Now like I said, I'm sure you sent me that as some kind of trick, like it's a feminine looking guy. My point with this tangent is that people only care about what they can actually see in the people around them, and not waht the person may or may not identify as. If a man that looks and sounds like a woman robbed somebody, then obviously they would tell the police it's a woman because that's what they saw.

Aight cool, at first glance that person looks to have a very girly face. That's neat and all, but let's say that I, a straight male, start dating someone like that. One I find out they have a fucking penis/lack a fucking vagina, that relationship is done. Because I care about the actual physical body of the person MUCH more than the gender identity.

That's your right. Transgender people often have trouble finding relations for that exact reason, even when post-op. And I will not judge a person for calling it off for that reason.
The people I do judge are the ones who believe a post-op woman has no rights to use the bathroom and should be locked in a mental institution.Β

In the rare places they are. But yeah, I only support a person using the bathroom of their chosen gender if they are out about it. In other words, they've seen a gender counselor, are certified as transgender, and are living full time as their chosen gender.Β

Fair. I think we've lost track of the original point. What I meant when I said that procedures like this don't exist in real life is that procedures which change a person completely with no negative side effects and no similarities to former self dont exist. They are a product of fantasy. I would treat a hypothetical science-fiction or fantasy magic gender swap like in the stories found in tg captions very differently from what we have in real life.
