It's gorgeous!! It's my favorite moment in all of Inuyasha. Rin stole his heart even before he realized he had one. She melted his heart and taught him kindness, compassion, patience, consideration, mercy, sorrow and fear. Its an beautiful relationship of trust and love. He's her guardian "angel" - her stoic, teenaged dog demon protector.

Wait, you actually agree with me? That's rare! A lot of fans get mad and troll me because I don't see Sesshoumaru as child Rin's "Dotting daddy dearest".
I will admit when In first started watching the show I though they were like an 'brother/sister'. But as time when on and the story progressed That opinion changed.
Now I can only see Sesshoumaru as CHILD Rin's protector - dog demon protector. A lot of fans yell at me saying that Sesshoumaru and CHILD Rin are father/daughter or else its perverted lolicon relationship - but I wonder what ever happened to just friendship? And the bonds of platonic (non sexual) love, and trust and the protective nature that comes with that?

It's true - Jaken actually played with her and helped her find food and water (although in retrospect Jaken may have been threaten via violence or death by Sesshoumaru into doing these things for Rin - especially in the beginning of their travels together) . Jaken was more like her "up-bringer" or "care-taker" of sorts and Sesshoumaru was her protector. It's true Rumiko Takashi never actually labelled the relationship between Sesshoumaru and child Rin during the series. Kagura called Rin, Sesshoumaru's ward and Naraku called Rin - Sesshoumaru's companion.

Sesshomaru has a heart of ice that only thinks of himself but Rin is the angel that save his soul. He be lost without her not that want anyone to know that. I can't help but wishing that Inuyasha and Sesshomaru can fine away for the human girls who rule their heart live as long as they do so not have pain in losing them to old age. I guess I leave that to fanfiction writers. Nice artwork by the way. I hope my comment is to your liking.

It was a touching moment, although Sesshomaru's mother being there just ruined the mood, at least for me.
It's obvious in this fan-art the feelings of both characters, which is probably my favorite part about it
