Velvet
Real name: Virginia Attaway
Age: 20
Occupation: Alterationist and hairdresser, runs the Clockwork Roulette as well at the Noah's Ark Circus (2nd string member), later assistant of Nina

- Welcoming, warm, sister-like personality
- Genuinely cares for her people
- Usually speaks cheerfully, but when defending someone or peeved, gets a harsher tone
- She totally can't cook, but she's the best at peeling potates.

She was born in a middle-class family from London. Her father was a watchmaker and she had a brother 10 years older than her. She spent a lot of time playing with broken clocks or watching his brother and father work, so she is really good at handling small objects, and overall at fixing things.
When she turned 18 she left home because idk, she wanted to be free and live on her own and such and joined the Circus. Since they hadn't had anyone who specifically cared for the clothes, she became the alterationist with the name Velvet.

She became good friends with Rabbit the magician, who told her to make a clockwork roulette out of gears, and run it before and after the main shows.
At first she shared a tent with Doll, but after the first movement of the circus she slept alone in her workshop tent, where she fits and repairs the clothes of the people at the circus. She ended up taking care of the hairstyles and sometimes nails and makeup as well.
She is easily friendly with everyone (which doesn’t means she’s friends with everyone btw) and the choosing and fitting of the clothes was one of the first activities of the newcomers of the circus, and so Velvet was one of the first person they meet there - even before their official presentation and naming.
When Snake arrived at the circus she quickly put him under her protection. Usually the newcomers are helped by their tent companions, but Snake slept alone with his snakes and Joker asked Velvet, who also slept alone, to take this role and show him the things around. She wasn’t scared of the snakes at all and worried a lot about him, so they became friends.
When the circus dissolved she had various short jobs. She brought an urgent letter to Earl Phantomhive during the Easter party. Since she was Snake’s friend, Elizabeth offered her to stay for the rest of the day. There she meet Nina and spoke with her about her former job at the circus, and so she became Nina’s assistant (mainly doing errands and things Nina isn’t interested in, like taking the measurements of men).
