Description "Idril Celebrindal was the daughter of King Turgon of Gondolin and ElenwΓ«, the wife of Tuor, and the mother of EΓ€rendil the Mariner. " (from the Tolkien Gateway)

Idril is a Tolkien character and appears in the Silmarillion and the Unfinished Tales.

Here looks like a letter from Tuor just arrived and she's happy!

So very beautiful! I love how she looks very regal but also has an air of playfulness hidden in her eyes.

thank you!

About her expression, I've been wanting to write a journal about it for a while...

You see, Idril is, like you said, regal. But she is also a girl. She has many responsabilities - but she has strong feelings and emotions.

On the other hand, I have drawn Nimrodel twice. [link] and [link] . In both I made her smile a bit off, distant. I realized that I did it without even thinking, but I always thought of Nimrodel as a scatterbrain. I always portray her as some sort of Bella Swan in her expressions - or lack of. After all, she did get lost never to be found again.

There's a third girl - Nellas. I drew her 3 times. In every single one of them she shows a lot of emotion. She feels, and she shows it. That's why I like her.

You pictured her very well! Where did you get inspiration for her dress?

thank you very much! The dress came completelly out of my head At first it would be a very very simple gown - just the darkest area, very flowy and light. But then I realized it was not fit for royalty. not a noldo princess. then I added the loose fabric in her waist and the shirt-like part, which in the back opens as a cape. There you go, a light, soft gown worthy of Idril's afternoon walk in Gondolin.
