O-Yoroi style samurai armor. a Work in progress Birthday Poster that is for my brother in Law.I wanted to push realism to the tilt in this one. I spent close to 3hrs on the line art alone. and so far 8+ hours on the coloring, with about another 2+ hours to go not including time I will spend on the tighter details... This is only a third of the Poster...i'm including my homage to "The Great wave off Kanagawa" by Hokusai Katsushika, as a backdrop...and an ornate Koi surrounded by twin dragons....i will be adding the Koi/Dragon lineart soon.
My God! i'm tired just writing this stuff....I hope you guys like it. Please, honest feedback is always welcome.....

Thank you! thats what i'm looking for, that "O'Shit!" moment when people see it. I want people to have to study it to realize its a digital painting. I appreciate you kind words and enthusiasm. and of course it will be posted here, when its all done.

Your brother is a very fortunate man; this piece is looking fabulous so far! The detailing on the rope and mask are outstanding - you're getting towards a level of realism that's a nod to a photograph, but also has the fantastical quality of an illustration. If you'll forgive the crudeness, this piece is going to look fucking awesome when you're finished!
