CHRISTMAS TREE PROJECT 2023
This project is BACK after three years. Welcome to the #ChristmasTreeProject2023. The #ChristmasTreeProject2020 was a project that I had planned since 2015 and finally launched it in 2020. I had also planned on it being a one-time thing but I felt the urge to host it again and announced back in April of this year that this project was coming back. Also, the 2020 project that I hosted was inspired by similar project from 2005 called Fella's Christmas Tree Project. You can read all the history on both projects here:

RULES
DEADLINE: December 17th, 2023 at 11:59 PM PST

POST DATE:In between December 24th to 26th, 2023 — I will do my best to have the final image done in a week. However, when I did this back in 2020, it took me a month to complete it because I made mistakes and had to redo it multiples times and I was also having gallbladder surgery at the time. Hopefully, I will be quicker at finishing the final image this year.

BE ORIGINAL: All material in your ornament must be original and made by you. Fan art is allowed but no using screencaps of copyrighted material. Anything like that will not be accepted. Your ornament can be made traditionally, digitally, photographed, etc. I think pretty well any type of media will be accepted except for literature unless you managed to put words in an image.

LIMIT OF 1: You may only submit one ornament per person. This will be the limit for now as I'm expecting to get a lot of submissions and I won't have time to add multiple submissions by one person. However, if I don't get many submissions then I may consider increasing the limit of submissions per person.

STATIC: Your ornament must be a static and not animated. The final image will be static so I cannot add any animated images to it. If an ornament happens to be animated, I will simply use the first frame of it as the submission.

TRANSPARENCY: Please be sure that your ornament is on a transparent background. That will make it easier for me to add it to a tree. Any ornaments with a colored background may not be accepted. I can try erasing a background with a solid color and making it transparent but I don't know if I will have time to do that with every submission I get so no guarantee that your ornament on a colored backed will be accepted.

SIZE: 100x100 pixels or 50x50 pixels or 100x50 pixels or 50x100 pixels. I will except only those three sizes and the 50x100 can be portrait or landscape if your ornament needs more space in like a rectangle size. If your submission does not meet those size requirements, I will be forced to resize it accordingly or it may not be accepted.

TAGGING: You MUST include the hashtag #ChristmasTreeProject2023 in your submission. That way it will be easier for me to keep track of all the submissions for this project. When the project is done though, I will not be able to list everyone who submitted an ornament. Be sure to look for your ornament in the final image and contact me if you need help finding it.

DREAMUP/AI: I suddenly saw an influx of submissions using DreamUp and AI technology. All future submissions and existing submissions using this technology WILL BE REJECTED. I want people to put effort into their ornament. Using this technology is simply cheating the system and will not be accepted.

PORN/NSFW: With the sudden influx of DreamUp and AI submissions, the majority of them were PORN/NSFW. This is a project for EVERYONE, including minors so all PORN/NSFW related submissions WILL BE REJECTED.

SUBMISSIONS: With the sudden influx of submissions from the Daily Challenge on December 13th, 2023, alot of those submissions either didn't know or read the rules and so some rules were broken, like having a coloured background and the size being bigger than 100x100 pixels. I have decided to accept some of them and reject others. Depending on how I feel about the piece, I will CHOOSE to either to accept it or reject it. I will also AMEND the submission to meet the requirements such as resizing it to 100x100 pixels. I will also try to make the background transparent if that is doable but if not, some with coloured backgrounds are now being accepted. This is also NON-NEGOTIABLE. If you are not happy with me altering your submission to meet the standards of this project then feel free to remove yourself from the project. All submissions must abide by the rules in some fashion or they will be REJECTED.
