Number 79 is a song which I wanted to remix since YEARS, because Vector to the Heavens (also known as Dirge of the Fourteenth as well as Xion[s] Final Battle) touched me a lot while I burned myself back then quasi out in order to finish the last state of the next-to-last boss of Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. But as I found at that time nowhere a .midi-file of this song, I gave this wish a little bit up, so that it vanished slowly in my memorization. Yet, because I bought for me and my boyfriend Kingdom Hearts 1.5 Remix a few weeks before, my interest for this song came naturally back at once, since many sequences of 358/2 Days are a part of this game-collection. So, I looked again for a useful midi.

In truth, I found one exemplar – a solo for piano. But it wasn't exactly what I had in mind; no matter, how good this thing actually is. Not even an edited version of this piece of music – containing drums and also bells, I guess – owned the notes which I definitely wanted to have in a remix. And that's why I decided to check, if it is possible to extract midis from the game itself. And yes, it is. Like I did with four of my other games, I put the security-backup I have into my preferred program for extracting soundfiles, so that I was able to get almost every interesting .midi-file of 358/2 Days.

Unfortunately, the quality is not as 'clean' as I'm used to from my four other tries. So, I was forced to edit the instrument-settings of the midi – as well as placing the 'zero'-layer into another one, since my version of Magix Music Maker is not able to recognize aforesaid layer. Thanks to this obstacle, I can't promise, that the midi-quality matches the general expectance, but I uploaded it nevertheless, so that you guys can use it, too. You can find the link in the details-section of my comment.

Well, another topic: I'm a (big) bit proud, how my remix-cover turned this time out. You may not recognize it, but I used another technique for the coloration, after I learned a lot thanks to my more-realistic-drawing-tries-without-linearts. And because of aforesaid way of coloring, I'm very delighted this time – particularly, when I look at the full-body-version of Xion. The colors overlap exactly in the way how I wanted them to look like, which makes me especially happy, as I normally have not the potential to attain this goal. And I have to say, that I start to be fond of linearts, which don't possess the typical black color. A dark-brown or -purple really seems to be smoother, which supports the harmony of the whole picture – I guess, I should have tried this earlier.
