Actually, Suzaku is the name of a firebird who guards the South, formally called "The Vermillion Bird."

Suzaku is the Japanese name for the guardian of the West, one of the Four Gods of the cardinal directions in Asian mythology. He (sometimes she, depending on where they're being used) happens to be a phoenix.
So, if this phoenix is named Suzaku, then he is a god!

Well Phoenix in Japanes is actually fenikkusu but still, a nice name. I love teh drawing, it's so amazing and detailed. I wish I coudl draw that good, and with markers too! You're talented!

Suzaku is actually the name of some sort of religious phoenix spirit if I remember right, but according to my dictionary it is Suzaku so....Fenikkusu, would be the japanese-ization of the english word, Right?But thanks! I'm glad you like it!
