For YandereDev's art contest :")The way I imagine a benefit to being part of the student council is that Senpai would know who Ayano is, due to her being part of the student council. Because of her position, he would respect her and look up to her (but would never fall for her, because that destroys the purpose of the game, rivals, etc.) I'm not sure if he would ever act like this, but I tried convey the feeling that Senpai wants to ask Ayano about something school-related but is a bit reluctant since he doesn't want to disturb her if she was busy with something. But we all know she already knows he's there, anyway.
So, pretty much, being part of the student council could help Yandere-chan get closer to Senpai, but in the sense that he won't be weirded out if she gets too close to him.
