Its pretty easy with full flash photography. High f stops (F16) and fast shutter (1/160s) and low iso with render most BG black as long as there are nothing with 30cm or so behind the subject. Even during daytime, this setting with have black bg. Btw, this is only applicable to macro subjects as the flash are meant to light up subject in front.

And thus, the small creatures that crept behind the leaves and grass shows up.
I don't know a lot of insect related works here (probably because I'm too lazy to look for one) and I'm sometimes creep out by some of them but this one is worth praising. The angle in which the little critter was capture truly brings about the essence of the creature. Small, yet intriguing.
Photography wise, this one is good and marvelous.
