It's to be expected, because they are naked & like Lydia Deetz for Beetlejuice and Sarah for Jareth the Goblin King (two other canon pairs of different species [if you consider a poltergeist different from a living human, in BeeJ's case] with massive age gaps), 9 year old Gazlene Membrane is canonically the only Earthling ZIM, a mega-maniacal Irken older than the eldest human alive, is both afraid of and yet, seems to not be fully repulsed by.
