I am greatly honored at your interest in my work. These days it's Β been poetry. Β I feel... awkward around some of the photographers lurking here... they're SO good.

I do hope the Bath Chair and the broken bones are temporary things... Β I admire good photographs, I keep the ones of things I wish to remember.

We didn't make it there that day. Β It was 15 degrees. Pilgrim-killing weather.

Recovered well, though. Villiers wrote a fascinating account of the voyage across the Atlantic. Β She did quite well!

Roodbard1958 is a professional Dutch naval historian, he puts up fascinating photos of old ships and design models. Β Also lovely pictures of what he sees going back and forth of Vlissingen.

Hard to believe they crammed so many people into such a small vessel.Β

Her captain had a good heart, and that brave little vessel did not fail them--although it came close. Β You'd like the account of the Mayflower II's voyage in 1957. Β When they sailed her with 16th Century technique, she did superbly.

I visited her and Plimouth Plantation in the late 1980s, maybe I'll have the photos I took converted to cd and post them someday.

I'm glad you liked the photo. Β It was a very, very cold day. You really felt for the Pilgrims.
