Damhán Garrett is a remarkably unpleasant person to be around. He’s unfriendly by nature and seems to dislike the company of others to a severe degree. He’s not very talkative -- but will let his feelings be known if he deems it necessary. He is not above using intimidation tactics to get what he wants -- even if what he wants most of the time is just to be left alone. Though, if you can manage to get close to the man -- you’ll find a markedly vulnerable personality is buried within. It seems, however, that not many can claim to have seen it.

For his business, Damhán has nothing but love. He dedicates most of his time to the Riverside Diner.

History:
With his red hair and heavy accent, one might have expected Damhán to be fresh off the the boat from Ireland. This is not the case however -- as he was born in Boston to an older couple who had come over during the Irish famine. He knew his parents long enough for him to be able to recall them and their manners -- but the both of them passed away before the boy hit 10. The mother went first -- with the father resorting to drink and melancholy in the three years that followed. Damhán will often “joke” that the man was buried with a bottle in his stiff hands.

After the death of his parents, Damhán was moved to a orphanage and would remain in and out of foster care until adulthood. No family that took him in had him for very long -- citing a notable air of discomfort around the boy. He was solemn, disliked people, and seemed to take a certain degree in the pain of small animals. None seemed to try to nip the bad habits in the bud. They just pushed it away, hoping someone else would take care of it.

No one ever did -- and Damhán, in all respects, grew up without a comfortable home. Within his heart -- a growing resentment of humanity and all it stood for. He would work odd jobs -- finding employment at a small grocery in Vertwick Shore. He relocated to the small fishing port, establishing a small and humble home in the city. Damhán would find comfort in the routine -- and a father figure in the old man who ran the store.

Eventually, when the land was cheap, Damhán purchased a plot on Main Street and established the Riverside Diner.

The old grocer went missing shortly afterward.
