Description

I was whispering to myself everything that I knew to be true at that moment as I sat on the couch listening to somebody knocking on my door in order to prepare myself for whatever that was going to happened after I opened up that door. "My name is Kevin, I live in the Cul-de-sac, I go to Peach creek high, best friend name is Nathan, my two other closest friends are Naz and Rolf, I lost my first kiss last night and the proof of it is still hung up at school, my parents are at some event in Nevada, and I hate Edward" I kept repeating the words in my head over and over again and saying them out loud too but while listening to myself, I also heard another person. Thinking that maybe I broke under the pressure, I stopped thinking and talking and soon I heard the banging stop. The voice wasn't coming from my head but from outside of it. No, outside of my house. Now knowing where it was coming from I made my way to the door and listen to the person on the other side talking to other person on the phone. It wasn't clear but I heard what the person was saying.
"Are you sure that he's here because it doesn't seem like anyone is home...Yeah, I knocked, Im not a idiot.....No I didn't look through, I got plank to do it" Its Johnny!? Wait wasn't he just with Edward. I checked my phone to see the text, that was sent not even five minutes ago to make sure I wasn't crazy. If Edward texted me from Johnny's phone, shouldn't they be here knocking on my door together? Not that I want that to happen. I continued to listen in on his conversation.
"You Don't Have To Yell! If plank says that he saw no one in the house then I trust him...Don't pull that crap with me. I don't have to put up with this cause when Double D gets here and they're is no Kevin, he is gonna come for, not just me but for, you so treat me how you like but see what happens...mhmm mhmm, yeah....that's better now what should I do...There's a key under the mattress, got it, bye." Oh No. I run in place, panicking thinking of what to do. If he comes in here and see me, he is gonna hand me over to Edward and if I hide, he is gonna be in my house while I am unable to do anything and then Edward is gonna be here also and trash my house looking for me and if the guys come and see this, there is gonna be another fight. What the heck am I going to do? Think, Think Think! I jiggle my head as he walks through the front door. No, No, No! I ran to close the door but he slipped his arm threw the crack of the door and used plank to hit me over the head and made me fall to the floor. He came in and said "Howdy Weak ass" He closing the door behind him.
"Just sit there until Double D gets here" I should have hid. I whimpered and got up from the floor.
"Why are you here?"
"For the money of course" He said as I took a seat on the couch next to Plank where Johnny had left him.
"I see, do you know who is this person that is gonna give you, or anyone really, the money"
"Edward and its gonna be me who gets that money. Stop asking questions" he replied
"This is my house"
"Shut up before I get plank to kick your ass again" Again?! All he did was hit me on the head. Not gonna lie tho that did really hurt but i wouldn't call that kicking my butt. Whatever it doesn't matter right now, what matters is me getting the answers behind all this. Things aren't adding up. Who was johnny talking to on the phone, if Edward had texted me off johnny's phone then why aren't they together now and if not together than close enough to the point where Edward should be walking into the room now. I look over at my front door and nothing. Nobody is coming in or out of it so Edward is probably at school and closer to it than here. I know how to get the answer but im gonna need plank's help along with it. I lean over to plank and nod my head as if im listening to him. Johnny catches me and yells "Stay Away From Plank"
I sit up straight and says " Sorry, sorry, i just had another question to ask" I put my hands up defensively.
"No More Questions!" It looks like he was about to pop a vain. He was so angry.
"Okay alright but let me ask you this"
He pulls out a chair from the dinning room table and brushes his bald head with his hand "What?!"
"Who were you talking to on the phone?" I pass him a glance and he looked nervous. "It was Edward"
"Stop lying, plank told me different"
"No he didn't" He brush it off with a laugh worried that his best friend actually ratted him out.
"he told me that is wasn't Edward. You see me and plank are actually pretty close, closer than you think i even got him to lie to you back there and tell you that no one was here."
"P-plank wouldn-, i mean he could-, no, he wouldn't betray me" He rubs his head in disbelief.
"Oh he did. Whats that plank" I lean back over closer to plank "you said you also know who really sent me that text and pretend that they were Edward" I said as i took a leap of faith when saying that and Jackpot. Johnny broke a single tear and yelled "Don't tell him plank! Don't do it, They'll hurt you too"
So i was right to suspect that Edward didn't send that message but if he didn't send it then who did.
"Johnny, johnny listen" I walk over to him and hands him my handkerchief "If you tell me the rest of what i need to know then i'll tell them that it was only you who told me everything and not plank" Even tho plank is just a small broken tree branch that cant talk and they, whoever they are, were gonna blame you anyways. Its kinda sad to see Johnny mental state worsen because im making him thinks that his best friend betrayed him and even sadder because even tho his best friend betrayed him, he is still trying to protect him. Johnny isn't that bad of a guy when he isn't bulling me. He is a really good friend. "I'll tell you just don't rat out plank...she is gonna kill me" I think i can almost see a tear come out his eye when suddenly someone is banging on the door. Its gotta be Nathan and them. I gotta think and fast how am i gonna explain to Nathan and them about everthing that just happened without me sounding like the damsel in distress. Im feeling anxious about all this when suddenly the door opens. Crap, we must of forgotten to lock the door. I have to think of what to tell them, or maybe not as i see that it wasn't them coming thougth the door its Edward. He walks in with his hat all messed up and his hair in a mess and kind of wet. He closes the door behind him and is sane enough to lock it. He takes his hoodie from off his head and pulls it back slowly, looking up in the air trying to catch his breath and holds on to his chest. He is soaked in sweat and looks exhausted. He pulls his shirt up to wipe his face and his body is in such good shape. He doesn't have the strength to run over to me and grab me as he wants so he walks over to me and grabs my cheek. Im scared and not sure what to do. I put up my hand to push his body off of mine but he just grabs my hand and holds it on to the table and collasp his head onto my shoulders. "You have to get out of here" He says out of the blue.
"What why?"
"Because people are coming after you...you gotta come to my place and hide out" More like hide out in his pants that's all he wants he isn't worried about me.
"Look Edward im not going to your house so that you can..." He lets go of my hand and places his over my mouth "Don't speak, you have made enough trouble for the both of us so now you will let me help and you will say nothing understand" I nod but point my eyes over to Johnny who seemed scarder than me. johnny put his hands in the air like i had done earlier. "I was just keeping a eye on him for you"
"Did you apologize to him yet?" Johnny nodded no and edward sighed "Then What The Hell Are You Here For?"
"I-I just told you why double D, because I was just looking out for you"
"He's lying, he is doing this for money"
Johnny felt a instand fear running up and down his spine and had a face that looked as if he didn't want me to tell Edward.
"Money?" Edward said as if confused
"Don't Play Dumb Edward. You were gonna pay whoever found me 20 dollars because you couldn't find me yourself"
He flicked me inbetween my forehead and said "I don't need anyone's help finding you, I can do that on my own and as you can see, I have no money on me to give to anyone so get your facts straight" What straighter than you? I giggled but kept the thought to myself
"Thats what i was doing before this hoodie wearing gap having hot head walked into my house, unannounced if i may add" I said while pushing him a little too far I think.
"You may not!" Yeah, i pushed him too far "Besides didn't i tell you not to talk?" He glared down at me and i looked down at the floor.
Johnny tried to sneek past during our feud. "Where do you think your perseeding to?" Edward grabbed Johnny by the collar of his shirt and helped him up to the wall making him stand on the tip of his toes. I rememered then that johnny was gonna tell me who sent him here then i asked him who it was and with edward by my side, i think we intimidated him a lot. "Just tell us who sent you, i know it wasn't edward, so just say who"
"You don't know who i'll have to answer to if i tell, what punishment will be waiting for, not only me but poor plank too"
"True we dont know but you do, you also know who you'll have to answer to if you dont tell us" Edward stepped towards him and a scare.
"That sounds terrifying, but i'll just have to go though whatever you throw my way" He says with his eyes shut closed
I was surprised that there is something scarier than Edward that johnny would risk his life over. Its giving me the chills, my bully is scared of someone that is targeting me, meaning i should be worried more than he is. My face turns pale and edward catched me before i fall, like how he always does. "You understand now what I mean when i say you have to come with me" Edward says with a 'I am right for once' additude and i shake my head yes. "Good" He lets go of johnny's collar and picks me up putting me over his shoulder "Your coming home with me, your under my protection now" I gush and automatically screaming for him to let me go.
"You've been pushing your boundaries kevin, weren't you suppose to keep quiet? say one more thing and i swear, i'll put you over my knee and you'll learn your place as a uke" I am silent as Edward walks me towards his place but not before he leaves johnny a message "Get out of here and tell your little boss if he or any body for that matter, wants kevin, he'll have to go though me." and like that he was gone and i was going to the devil's den where i'll be forced to do god knows what. I think I was better off being sold to Johnny's boss than I am now. Somebody Please Save Me!
