Description See the black spectre that wades in the water,
That obsidian shape with no tangible mortar,
His coat ocean shining,
The darkness of depths,
His eyes subtly hinting at the barnacled breadths,
Of some seaward dominion which holds his true form,
Of the briny infernos in which he was born,
You see a horse,
A stallion on sand,
A terrible beauty approaching your hand;

See that black witchcraft that you beckon near?
You should not pursue it if it's drowning you fear,
If you mount him he'll take you far into the sea,
For he's no ebon horse but the cruel kelpie.

I liked the musical rhythm and rhyme of this piece and fully enjoyed the imagry that you were using and the mystical tension that was being built up. I was really just getting into this piece and was hoping that it would go on for a lot longer and explore in more fascinating detail about the kelpie which this poem seems to only tantalisingly introduce. In my opinion its definately got great potential to build and extend into a richly fulfilling and evocative childrens story-song. +Fav
