I really like some of these newer episodes, I'm not sure why but I'm seeing a lot of complaints about the updated animation? Personally I like the exaggeration, it fits the theme of the show

I just dont like the pushed meme making faces or gross out scenes, cuz there really is just too many now... Theyre really trying to make memes of themselves, and they shouldnt do that just to be liked....

Yeah, that seems to be something else people are saying. I'd say they were past the meme phase though, the show has definitely improved since the second movie. I agree with the overly detailed gross-outs, but the amount of time and detail artists put into them, it's hard to say I find them stupid! It adds that unique touch to the show, since SpongeBob is one of the only cartoons left that still use hand-drawn illustration and animation. But I like the odd exaggeration in a character. It's 'stretching' them to their limits, surprising viewers with what they're capable of. The animation in my opinion is really entertaining these days. It's not as stiff and lifeless as seasons 6-9...
