Description DeltaTale is some sort of DeltaRune/UnderTale AU I've made. Asriel, the "hero of another story," finds himself in the Dark World, helping Kris, Susie and Ralsei in the Vulkrum Badlands, a strange, deadly place with just as deranged beasts running around. In the Light World, however, he's just a new student in Kris' and Susie's class, where everyone is unaware of his true identity as the Prince of Monsters/Prince of Light.

I thought you'd keep it on topic regarding the picture. Not your playstyle in skyrim.

I'll say just this, that Asriel was introduced too early, actually I've had something else planned for him and Bird girl... but I feel he's as fitting as Asier was...

MephistaTheDark In reply to ss2shadic [2019-08-02 19:10:21 +0000 UTC]

That can still happen in the next Chapter, no big deal.

Like Chapter Four or Five would had been a better point to introduce him.

MephistaTheDark In reply to ss2shadic [2019-08-02 19:13:55 +0000 UTC]

What makes you say that? We haven't even gotten to Chapter Three yet.

ss2shadic In reply to MephistaTheDark [2019-08-02 19:16:04 +0000 UTC]

I'm saying that cause many things are happening at once, Like the Bird girl and Asriel being introduced... Like I don't have anything against him but Asriel introduction could been better made if it weren't so early, more like mid-story.

I mean, while it WAS specified that Chapter Two takes place on a Friday, we can just move the dates back. Like Chapter One taking place on a Monday and Chapter Two on a Tuesday. The current Chapter "Two" with the Vulkrum Badlands can be moved further back. I actually had the areas the Delta Warriors will visit, lined up already, but was thinking too far ahead. Both Asriel and the Bird Girl would now get introduced in Chapter Five. These are just mere guidelines, though.

The areas I've planned so far:

Chapter One: Card Castle
Chapter Two: Tuvale Forest
Chapter Three: Yarsol Cove
Chapter Four: Aldur Highlands
Chapter Five: Vulkrum Badlands
Chapter Six: Grimhal Volcano
Chapter Seven: Frentir Chasm

So Chapter Two Is the fifth one instead...?, but can we still do the final part go to chapter two ?, the one where Mirai gives the phone to Susie ?.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MephistaTheDark In reply to ss2shadic [2019-08-02 19:31:58 +0000 UTC]

Sure. Everything will be the same, just that it's a Tuesday instead and they go to Tuvale Forest, which would make more sense for them to end up in a forest glade in the Light World.

So the part where Mirai asks Phantom is scrapped then?

MephistaTheDark In reply to ss2shadic [2019-08-02 19:39:43 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. Wouldn't make sense for them to break into the school on a school day.

ss2shadic In reply to MephistaTheDark [2019-08-02 19:41:44 +0000 UTC]

Ok, maybe save it for later, did I made Phantom and Blaine introductions unsettling enough ?.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MephistaTheDark In reply to ss2shadic [2019-08-02 19:43:55 +0000 UTC]

I guess. Though, I think the bit with Phantom can stay, since if every chapter takes place over a single day, Chapter Five would still end up on a Friday.

ss2shadic In reply to MephistaTheDark [2019-08-02 19:44:52 +0000 UTC]

Ok... so we wrote chapter five earlier and now are we supposed to do Chapter two again ?.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MephistaTheDark In reply to ss2shadic [2019-08-02 19:54:50 +0000 UTC]

I guess, yeah. We never specified on which day each chapter takes place, which makes it easier to move them around.

ss2shadic In reply to MephistaTheDark [2019-08-02 19:56:40 +0000 UTC]

What if we just skip Asriel's introduction and put the plan that Mirai had in the first place ?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MephistaTheDark In reply to ss2shadic [2019-08-02 20:10:58 +0000 UTC]

We could do that, but it still wouldn't work with the areas. In Chapter Two, they're heading to Tuvale Forest. Chapter Five is when they reach the Vulkrum Badlands.

ss2shadic In reply to MephistaTheDark [2019-08-02 20:14:00 +0000 UTC]

What if The Badlands were in chapter two instead and the forest in chapter five ?.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MephistaTheDark In reply to ss2shadic [2019-08-02 20:16:54 +0000 UTC]

That's not what I had planned. Besides, the Vulkrum Badlands are full of undead beasts, which the teens surely wouldn't want to encounter THIS early on their journey.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ss2shadic In reply to MephistaTheDark [2019-08-02 20:17:48 +0000 UTC]

Actually, I've imagined Fiends rather than Undead as enemies, for later chapters.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MephistaTheDark In reply to ss2shadic [2019-08-02 20:34:15 +0000 UTC]

The Undeads are only in the Vulkrum Badlands. And I don't know about Fiends. They're your concept and I don't feel comfortable using it in the story.

I guess, I could keep Chapter Two the way it is... Only minor changes need to be made there.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ss2shadic In reply to MephistaTheDark [2019-08-02 20:37:34 +0000 UTC]

Fiends are basically Demons bit without Demonstones to summon them, they either have a Master or not, for example Dystopia and Croire are Masters and their servants are Shad, Rorak, Sonja, Blizzard and Blaine, But I never said you had to use them, I am just giving my opinion that mindless Undeads seem like easy early enemies... and not too fitting for late chapters.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MephistaTheDark In reply to ss2shadic [2019-08-02 20:43:32 +0000 UTC]

Um, yeah, I'd keep Fiends exclusive to The Lost Heir, thank you.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ss2shadic In reply to MephistaTheDark [2019-08-02 20:47:10 +0000 UTC]

Actually they do appear in some other AUs but in UT/DR I prefer if they're exclusive to the Lightner world... but I did got a better idea, how about The Bad guy minions being enemies for later chapters ?.

MephistaTheDark In reply to ss2shadic [2019-08-02 20:50:37 +0000 UTC]

Also, Asriel looks a bit lightweight here to be a Battlemage, his current gear gives more the impression of a thief.

MephistaTheDark In reply to ss2shadic [2019-08-02 22:34:18 +0000 UTC]

He does have chainmail underneath the armor which makes him slower than he normally would be and he lacks in defense in general. Asriel obviously limits himself to fire magic, so he won't be revealed as the God of Hyperdeath. Asier carries the title of the Angel of Death, to avoid confusion.

Since he is a Hircus, he has an easier time learning how to wield a lance, shortsword, longsword or rapier, having chosen the shortsword as his weapon. That is a common skill among them, but not the only kind of weapon a Hircus can wield, such as Ralsei using a magic wand as his weapon of choice.

Also, he, as well as every other Hircus, can see in dim light up to 18 meters as if it was bright light and can see in darkness as if it was dim light. However, he can't discern colors in darkness and only sees shades of grey. Same goes to Ralsei, obviously.

Most Hircus can speak common languages on the surface as well as the ancient monster language, which is called Rhadian.

Odd, Lucius and Mirai are quite bulky in comparison and both of them aren't the fastest, however they make up with two things... Lucius can support by Conjuring things and Making spells to strengthen his defense and is more resistant to magic... Mirai on the other hand has a better magic regeneration and recovers his health quicker, he has less HP than Lucius but more magic to compensate for it, Mirai also knows healing spells but sadly he can only use them on himself.

Both Lucius and Mirai use a one-handed axe as weapon.

MephistaTheDark In reply to ss2shadic [2019-08-02 22:49:42 +0000 UTC]

Asriel IS bulky. In magic defense. His physical defense is what's lacking, which he buffs with magically enhanced armor and chainmail. Against another magic user, he won't have much of a problem. Pit him against a non-magic user, and watch him become a Glass Cannon within minutes.

So basically opposite of Asier ?.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MephistaTheDark In reply to ss2shadic [2019-08-02 23:02:49 +0000 UTC]

Yep. Normally, they would have an equal amount of physical and magic defense each, but due to their bad mental states(Asier with his Depression/Social Anxiety and Asriel with the mental torture Flowriel put him through), each of their weaker defense stats tumbled down. It's slowly going back up with Asier though, as he is feeling much better. Asriel on the other hand is still extremely scared of Flowriel, him being the primary source and reason behind Asriel's reoccurring nightmares.

ss2shadic In reply to MephistaTheDark [2019-08-02 23:04:58 +0000 UTC]

Asriel's worst matchups would be Shad and Blaine, given the two use Magic but for fighting purposes goes purely physical, Blaine being basically a walking slaughterhouse and Shad being the sort of guy who would attack you when you blink.

MephistaTheDark In reply to ss2shadic [2019-08-02 23:17:29 +0000 UTC]

Yet, Shad won't mess around with a truly pissed off Asriel. Azzy doesn't get angry that easily, being incredibly kind and patient, but once his buttons are pushed, he could even give Flowriel a run for his money. The quiet ones always snap the loudest, after all.

ss2shadic In reply to MephistaTheDark [2019-08-02 23:19:15 +0000 UTC]

Oh hell no, Shad learned his lesson to NOT mess with Asriel... Flowriel is another story though.

MephistaTheDark In reply to ss2shadic [2019-08-02 23:42:45 +0000 UTC]

Flowriel has become much more docile than before, but he still is and will always remain a sociopath. He also still stalks Asriel and "plays" with him by threatening to kill him, but just drawing it out for his own sadistic pleasure, much like he did with Frisk when he still was Flowey. He has never hurt Asriel physically. At least, that's what he claims. The various green spells scars on Asriel's body beg to differ from that statement.

ss2shadic In reply to MephistaTheDark [2019-08-02 23:44:25 +0000 UTC]

For some reason I feel if Shad is around Flowriel wouldn't dare even do that, given that Shad killed him in many timelines before and has no trouble doing it at all.

His warnings would be something like that.

"What about it? I've never hurt Asriel directly. Just messed with his head on occasion. Hah! Was kinda fun to see the little crybaby call for mommy and daddy. It's SO easy to break him... Anyway. What if I leave them alone and go for useless nobodies? To be fair, it won't be as satisfying as it is with Frisk and Asriel, but at least it'll still be fun. For me, that is."

"That's RICH! Don't act like you suddenly started to care about absolute nobodies. Nobody would bother if a random human would be found dead." Flowriel suddenly sat up straight and looked much more docile, excited even. "Do you wanna play something?" He asked, his mismatched eyes gleaming with playfulness. "Don't listen to the other me... He's cruel and evil." He told Shad sheepishly, looking at the human with puppy-eyes. Clearly, he had a split personality. One side was vicious and cruel while the other was sweet and much more childlike.

((I've thought about making Shad and Shade elvens))
