Description Whee, my first DA upload! This is my Skyward Sword Zelda cosplay for Finncon/Animecon 2011.

The first time I saw Zelda's new design in Skyward Sword, I knew I just had to have that dress. So pretty! So what if the game isn't released for a few more months, I couldn't wait. I haven't cosplayed in some years, and it was just as fun as I remembered.

Well I'm a little late. This is one of the best ones I've seen. Did you use a pattern for the dress? I can't figure out what to search for to make it. If you have any suggestions that would be amazing!

I made the pattern myself, so, not sure if I can help you there. But it's pretty basic, you could try copying the shape from an existing dress or shirt and modifying that. Also some fabric stores sell patterns, I'm not sure how much they cost though.

The belt was a tricky one to figure out... I couldn't find anything like it anywhere, so I got another idea. I bought 20 blue buttons that were about the right shape and size, spray painted them gold, and tied them together. It came out looking pretty nice!

I don't know how many there offically are, but mine has 19. I had 22 of them in total, but in the end only needed 19 for the right length.

I studied dressmaking some years ago. I made a basic pattern in my size at school back then, and always work from that same pattern when making new dresses.

The dress is cotton satin. Cotton wrinkles easily, but I love it anyway.
