I don't really remember this guy (or at least not more than a vague familiarity). ^_^" I think I saw at least some of the Mighty Ducks cartoon at some point, but I don't really remember much about it. Perhaps I should try finding some episodes of it online...
Hmm... the outlines for Sa'Luk look smoother, but the outlines for L'Orange are thinner. (I like thin, smooth lines - though I usually end up with thicker lines when I draw stuff, and also end up getting too annoyed with trying to make one single smooth stroke per line when I draw with a tablet. Pencil's easier, though. Pen, though, I never was good with. Was this done with pen? Looks pen-like.)
The pose looks hard to draw, with the angle of the sword and the angle of his arm and all that. I think it looks good though (but I don't really know anything about fencing stances).

My process, typically, is pencil first, inked by pen and colored using Primacolor markers (and cheap BIC markers in my earlier drawings). My latest piece is a good example of how I create them. And I was fine for the most part with Sa'Luk, except I tried to give him bolder outlines and it kinda took away the picture I was going. Lesson learned: experimenting is fine, but practice is even better.
And I used plenty of references for this, most noticably artists who've upload Duke art here on DA.
