Ami-doll is Ami Mizuno's nickname, when she shrank to the size of a Barbie doll.
When you're doll-sized, you'd try some interesting choices of fashion. For Ami-doll, wearing underwear as a makeshift outfit would work, until she gets some decent clothes...to bad the underwear was worn by a giant, such as Usagi.

In my opinion, it's synonymous with a wedgie using oversized underwear, which is how many people accomplish shoulder or atomic wedgies. I can tell that this is not what you were going for, however.
