tumblr linkSo last winter Iron-Zing sent me the first 4 books in the Wings of Fire series and I quickly got obsessed (short fast-paced middle grades fantasy about dragons with lots of well-written female characters, heck frickin yes???). so i made these... but they took me like 6 months LOL i made this so much harder than it needed to be
i know it's ironic the last thing i posted i was complaining about not wanting to do fanart anymore and the very next thing i post is this haha but seriously im gonna focus on original stuff more after this i swear

Well I tried to keep all the design elements from the American versions, while taking lots of liberties with the styles! it's not fun to just copy somebody else's interpretation entirely! thanks!

Yayyyyyyyyyy I remember you posting sketches of these on facebook awhile ago, I'm so glad to see them finished! They really turned out well, I love the expression on the Rainwing haha, and also you managed to make Sandwing faces look anatomically possible, I'm super jealous, I always struggle with them lol
Also love how the Seawing is lit from underneath, it gives it a really neat look and feel C:

thanks!! haha I lost my motivation during the last couple of quarters, then a friend gave me a little intuos tablet she wasn't using and even tho I had a perfectly functioning bamboo somehow it got me motivated to make digital art again?? haha I'm glad I could finally finish
