Description I realized the other day that I have no pictures of this piece I did. So here's one. Sorry for the reflection in the glass, I'm not really interested in spending the time with GIMP to get it out. Its a poor picture but it'll do the job.

I finished this a few years ago, it is by far my favorite finished piece at this time. The pattern was by Mirabilia, it was done on 36 count fabric over 2 threads. I just adore how the beads and metallic threads all came together. It took me months of work (less than a year, I remember that much) and for once in my life I didn't give my work away. That terrible habit I'm slowly breaking myself of.

So many hundreds of teeny tiny beads... I think it just about drove me crazy putting them all on one by one. Thanks!

Beautiful work! With the metallic threads and beads I thought it was made by joan elliott, but you've helped me discover a new site with loads of awesome cross stitch designs on - never heard of Mirabilia before.

Thank you! Their designs are FABULOUS. The charts are so easy to read. They do tend to come in one, huge sheet of paper but I just run them down to the local copy shop and get it printed onto a couple of standard pages to make for an easy working copy.

Yeah I saw the website after I replied to you and the stuff there really does look beautiful. So how big is big anyway? Like A3 or what?

They vary. I pulled a couple out of my file box to check for you. 14 1/2in by 16 1/2in on both sides, 14 1/2in by 15 1/4in both sides, 16in by 18in both sides. All pretty non-standard and no 2 patterns the same it seems.

She's beautiful. I love all the bead work. And I have the same bad habit of giving my finished projects away.

Thanks, I'm glad you like her! I'm also glad I'm not the only nutjob out there that gives away hundreds of hours of handwork....

Thanks! I have a few more finished and framed pieces around my house, I'll get around to getting some pictures eventually.

Ooooo, it looks great! Cross Stitch would be an interesting hobby for me to pick up (one day when I don't have a thousand more things I need to do.)

I LOVE cross stitch. Well, all embroidery really. Its my stress relief. Sit, toss a movie or tv series on and I'll stitch for hours on end.

That's what I do with knitting. I could spend a whole day parked on the couch with my needles and yarn and be perfectly content.
