Description Two male mallards (drakes) in the front of a single female. (Sorry ladies.) This was a "drive by" that caught me a bit off-guard as I was observing a river from the bank. You hope you have the setting right and click away with the best of hopes. The light wasn't the best or I could produce more detail. (Maybe my settings weren't so perfect for this condition but when you are panning with the subject this can change in the blink of an eye, with no time for adjustments.) Their fronts were mostly in shadow, as the sun was off to the right and somewhat behind them. Nothing ventured, nothing gained is my philosophy.

Reminds me of the pottery figurines that were so popular in Britain in the 60s! My parents had a set of three mallards just like this, only flying in the opposite direction, and they also famously featured in the long-running soap Coronation Street, on the wall of Stan and Hilda Ogden's home!

Yes, funny how we see things in real life or in photos that bring back memories, smells can do the same. Thanks for viewing and commenting sir.
