The expression on his face is so noble! And the hair ... I love how you did the hair. It looks like just some simple strokes yet the effect is fantastic. And the colours you used to harmonize portrait and background ... well ... if I didn't say it before: I love your art!

Very nice! For some reason, this reminds me of the character of Mordred from Arthurian lore. Great picture!

You know the story of King Arthur, Merlin and the Sword in the Stone? Mordred was the evil, illegitimate son of King Arthur, born from either his half sister Morgan le Fay, or his other half sister, Morgause (depends on the interpretation). The legends say that as revenge, for not being given the throne themselves, the half-sister of King Arthur, seduced their estranged half-brother, whom they'd never personally met before, so that their own son, would be king after Arthur's death. Arthur didn't know he'd committed incest, until much later and too late, and when he finally met his son Mordred, the boy had been raised to hate his father, and was trained and taught to kill him, to usurp the throne. Most depictions of Mordred are similar to your picture here, a handsome, but dark prince.

This is truly amazing. I was wondering where you got the brushes from or which brushed from the standard ones are these because i adore the texture of this piece

I actually used the simple round brush for the character, for the fancy background and brush effects I used the mixer brush with the chalk texture.
