Description Quite obvious, we're making trolls and they're going to be quite different to your usual LOTR trolls.

You mean different from the movie trolls, which isn't exactly "LOTR Trolls," it's just one persons artistic interpretation.

Well, what I've seen so far, other depictions and interpretations of trolls are very mostly similar to the movie ones.

Well since those movies came out pretty much everyone imitates them. Which is both sad and irritating. Artists should be more original than that. Wait until you see my trolls. They won't look anything like the movie versions. Actually, none of my stuff looks like the movie versions.

I loved them. They're well designed. But we want our own buggers.

I liked them but they where too dumb to be the ones in "the hobbit"

Intriguing. The elongated skull is certainly a new look.

I kind of like the non fatty trolls, certainly gorrilla like long arms seem to be a general troll feature regardless of the specific rendition...I like how you've gone into detail of the skeletal structure of the skull....nicely done!

Aeah, we associate the gorilla proportions with brute strength, that's King Kong for you.

I was hoping I'd get more from a kodiak bear into the troll design, but we decided a big ape was a safer bet.

the skull is quite bearlike though, a fur less bear, but bear nonetheless.

True, the skull still has bear. Forgot about that.

Very nice - a great compromise between the animal-like trolls of the films and the human-esque trolls of the Hobbit (in fact, if you removed the armour they could work really well as the stone trolls Bilbo & Co. meet ).

Nice touch with the hooves - from the comment in FotR about them having toeless feet I've always imagined them having elephant like feet, however hooves would also fit this remark and are a novel idea.

I thought about using elephant feet and then I noticed they did that in the movies. (+ the elephants sort of do have very stunted toes)

We're going for more human-like skinny trolls with a little touch of a reptile. (in the head mostly)

I think the films' trolls do actually have larger toes than elephants (I know elephants have stunted toes, but they are merged enough with the foot to count as 'toeless' for my personal standards ). I have several miniatures based on the film design, and they have fairly large toes.

Because of some rigging issues we decided to try skinny trolls instead of bloated fatty trolls. We'll see how it works.
