Something cute and indulgent between commission/adoptable work. I draw Ariel a lot now whenever I'm just experimenting or whatevs. I only started really enjoying drawing her when I saw Glen Keane's actual pencils and concept work. In his raw animation tests, Ariel's appeal was just exponentially magnified for me in the raw energy of his work. www.youtube.com/watch?v=tw6FMo… (seriously, look up more of his pencils of her, they're amazing) Though, honestly, if I ever met the man, I wouldn't know whether to collapse in a puddle of not-worthiness, or make him tell how HER STUPID BANGS WORK XD

I am really trying to change how I do digital ; 3 ; I'm trying to break down old habits and processes that I were impeding my coloring. For example, heavily relying on brush presets or stamps instead of making my own (though I definitely still used that light shaft brush on top, BUT I didn't use those bubble brushes XD) I think I'm gonna go through and delete most of them, actually. I also really over used multiply for shading instead of choosing colors. I also used to be super scared of what area I was using what color on, but now I'm trying to use the same color in shadows all over the place and NOT selecting just one area at a time. Minuscule as that may sound, that's monumental to me O.o I think I'm just trying to "loosen up".
