i've been down in the dumps, my dear friend isn't having the best of times. so, i decided to draw something in his style, as a gift for him. it made me feel better to make something for my friend.

thanks so much! every once in awhile i get the urge to make something in someone else's style. i can't always pull it off, but sometimes it works well. i'm sooo familiar with frank's work since we've done so many collabs so i've had the chance to see his work really really up close and i've learned what things i do mesh with what he does.

This is really beautiful! Love the colours (of course) And I love how soft almost those white rope-like lines are!

thanks a lot! it was really fun to do. those ropey lines are the first thing i started out with--i was trying to find a new shape (at least new for me)and i was practicing this when i started to see a cool composition and after i started i thought it really looked hesterkinsh and i thought of an email i got from him recently, so i made into sort an homage. tee hee! i just did another in those colors! i just posted it! my first horror piece!!!

thanks frank! i thought you could use something to cheer you up and i felt like making something like our old collabs, so i did my best to do "my" half, and "your" half, both at the same time! it was really fun to compose. do you ever discover a new shape? i'm sure you know what i'm talking about...well this got started, as most things do, with me doodling and i got the idea of those ropey/link sort of shapes and i practiced it til i could do them really regularly and it just seemed so enjoyable to compose. that's one of my favorite parts of drawing! it was fun to finish, thinking that you would like it. !!!

i just loooove it what really makes it special is the enjoyment you got out of doing it thats exactly how i feel doing name drawings. new shapes and designs are always fun when you/ i fall into one, its exciting you'll have to tuck this one aside until we can do another mail swap , pretty soon i'll have enough for my own Merpa section in my little room !!
