I entered my condo building like I always did. It had been a long day of work and I was ready to go sit on my couch and relax for a little bit before heading off to dinner. There was a little restaurant I had been planning to try for a while and I figured that tonight would be a good idea. As I entered my condo I grabbed my newspaper and sat down on the couch. I opened it and started to read. As I reached the classifieds I found an ad that read “Looking for a great costume? Come to the high quality, magical costume shop Hidden Treasures.” I had always loved costumes and by the way this place sounded it would be an ideal place to find a new one. I figured I could go there, come back and then head out to dinner. Excited to see the store, I grabbed my things and headed out the door. When I got outside I plugged the address into my phone and headed in that direction. On the way there I passed by my therapists office. I had been going there at least once a week for a while now. We had been trying to address my issues with gender. We had concluded that I was in fact a transwoman suffering from gender identity disorder and were discussing options for transition. I wish there was an easier way but if that is how it would go then I would do it. My phone beeped at me, telling me I had arrived at my destination. I looked around and reasoned that the only place it could be was down that alleyway. Secretly glad it was daytime, I walked a short distance down it before arriving at a door. Above the door was a neon sign that said "Hidden Treasures." Laughing to myself about how appropriate the sign was, I opened the door slowly to find myself in front of a set of stairs. The smell of fabric and old wood wafted up from the bottom. I carefully grabbed the handhold and made my way down the stairs. As the room came into view I was amazed! All I could see was a room filled with racks and racks of costumes, from so many different topics. As I stepped off the last stair I almost bumped into a girl wearing a rouge costume. "Sorry about that"

She replied "Don't worry about it. Welcome to the shop! If you need anything feel free to ask Ennis or I" She pointed to a kindly old man who sat at the front desk smiling at me.

I thanked the girl and started to move through the costumes. Every costume I saw was of amazing quality. I had to laugh to myself though because if you were looking for a male costume, you would be out of luck! All of the costumes I saw were of female characters. After a good couple of hours of exploring the different racks I came across one that caught my eye. As I was pushing costumes down the rack I saw a familiar symbol. It was yellow in a flying mammal shape. I got very excited and pulled it out to look at it. It was a leather like material with a purple stripe of a different material running down each side. I recognized it instantly. This was the batgirl suit that Stephanie Brown wore in the comics. As I turned it around I noticed the cape was attached via a interesting connection that would allow the suit to be worn without it. I also noticed that a bag was hanging on the hanger underneath the cape. In it I found two utility belts, one for the waist and one for the leg, a pair of sturdy boots, a pair of gloves that went up my arm to slightly before my elbow and not only looked armored but also had three black wings that went off each one, and a set of undergarments. I noticed that there was no cowl but I still liked the suit so I brought it up to the front desk. Ennis greeted me and said "Have you found everything to be satisfactory?"

I nodded and said "Yes, I am so happy i found this"

Ennis smiled "Glad to hear it, I have the cowl in the back. One moment"

He went into the back and I stood there for a moment. I was so excited that I was going to be able to be batgirl! Ennis came out and handed me the cowl. It was sculpted out of some material (maybe worbla) and looked so smooth. The ears were perfectly made and it looked like it would fit me, even though my hair wasn't that long (my hair was taking forever to grow out). He then entered some numbers into the cash register and then said "That will be $34.33" It took me a moment before I pulled out my wallet to pay him. I had come in here fully expecting to pay at least $100. I grabbed $40 out of my wallet and handed it to him. He handed me back my change and said "If you want to try it on you can go in there" He said and pointed over to a door I hadn't noticed before. I thanked him, grabbed my bag and costume and walked over to the door. I pulled it open and found myself in a fairly large dressing room. There was a long bench, a coat hanger and a full body mirror. I closed the door and placed the costume on the bench and my bag on the coat hanger. I took each part out of the bag and placed it on the bench, leaving enough space to sit down if I needed to. I undressed as I felt the excitement growing. I was about to look like batgirl, though with my body it would end up more like batman. I shrugged that thought off and I took off my last article of clothing. I placed on the undergarments and was so happy that they fit me well. I was already feeling like a girl and I hadn't even put the suit on! As I picked up the suit I noticed that the zipper was in the back and looked almost concealed when zipped. I stepped into the suit, putting it on one leg at a time until I brought it up to my chest. I lifted the suit over my arms and shoulders and zipped up the back. It felt perfect, fitting right into all the right areas. I sat down and placed both of my feet into the boots. I zipped each of them up and walked around in them. While they were slightly heavier than what I was used to they fit perfectly. I should have been a bit suspicious about this but I was too excited to care! I placed the utility belt around my waist and the other one around my leg. The one on my leg was tight enough that it wouldn't fall off but still loose enough that it wouldn't hurt or damage the costume. I grabbed the cape, realized how it attached, and put it on. I was amazed at how light it was, I didn't even notice it even though the material looked thicker. I picked up the gloves, put them on and zipped them up. I was amazed at how they looked and felt. They seemed to be made out of the same material as the suit and I was able to move my fingers around in them very easily. The bat bits on the gauntlets looked hard but then I realized that they were made of some type of rubber, not sharp at all! I turned and looked in the mirror. All I needed to do was put on the cowl and I would be as batgirl as I could be. I grabbed the cowl and began to place it onto my head. I think I felt it vibrating a little bit but I didn't notice it. I placed it down on my head and found it to be very comfortable. I only had a few seconds before I felt the changes start.

I could feel my feet getting slightly smaller and the skin becoming more soft. Any hair that was on them disappeared as feet reformed. Before I had I chance to look at them I felt my legs changing. Any hair that was on them vaporized as my legs reformed. They became more shapely and much nicer. My skin had softened as the rest of the hair on my body vaporized as well. As confused as I was I didn't try and take off the costume. I just stood there as I felt a major change happen. I felt my manhood begin to shrink and disappear. Confused I reached down and pushed in, only to realized that I had a slit down there now. As I felt my hips and butt become larger and firmer I realized what was happening. Somehow this costume really was magical and was turning my male body into woman's! I sat down as I felt a new organ forming in my chest. My chest reformed and gave me a lovely feminine curve. I looked down and began to see two things pushing out the fabric. They kept growing until they reached C-cup size. I could feel them pushing the fabric of the suit. My shoulders cracked as they moved in, making them less broad. I felt my arms reformed. My hands became smaller and a layer of purple nail polish appeared on my beautiful nails. I felt my neck change shape and my adams apple shrunk. I tried to speak and found my voice to be beautifully feminine. I felt some pain in my face as my facial bone structure changed. My jaw became less square and more rounded. My lips became fuller and more matched my new voice. My eyes became softer, brighter,and simply marvelous. I felt the cowl become tighter as my hair grew and made it tighter. I looked at it and saw it was a beautiful blond color. After all the changes had completed I looked in the mirror. I saw a girl in an ill-fitting batgirl costume. As soon as I thought that the costume reshaped and resized until I saw it fitting perfectly. I took a moment to admire myself before walking out of the dressing room. Ennis was standing there and asked "How do you feel"

In my new voice I responded with "Better than I ever have before! How in the world did you do it"

He gave a hearty chuckle and said "Well I was trained as a wizard some time ago back in my home country. I opened this shop to help people find their dreams. Sometimes no change is needed but other times a major change is wanted. When I saw you come in today I could tell that you wished that you were a girl. I enchanted the cowl for a one time permanent change. Are you ok with it?"

I ran up to him and gave him a big hug. "Of course Ennis! I feel so great! I finally have a body to match my mind! Thank you so much!"

He said "Your welcome, your ID has also been changed accordingly."

I ran back to the dressing room and pulled it out. Sure enough my name had changed to Iona. I was so happy because that was my preferred name! I ran back to Ennis and gave him another big hug. After a few moments Ennis spoke "I was wondering if you wanted to come work for me. It would only be on saturdays so you would still have time for a social life and your other job. There are other girls who work here that I think you would get along well with. Each month we have a little party of sorts so you can meet the girls who work on sundays. Plus I could teach you a little magic. What do you say"

I thought about it for a moment before responding "Yes sir! I would love to!"

Ennis smiled "Great! If you come here next saturday we can fill out the forms and get you trained. Your uniform is your costume"

"Great! I love the cape but would it be ok if I didn't wear it to work? I'm worried that I might damage it"

"Absolutely! Glad to see your thinking ahead! So I'll see you next saturday?"

I told him I would, grabbed my stuff, and headed out the door. On the way I saw the girl in the rouge costume.

"Hey sorry about about almost bumping into you earlier"

"It's fine. You seem like a really nice girl. After work next week do you want to hang out? The other girls and I were planning to go and have a night out. Your welcomed to come if you want."

I told her that it sounds like a lot of fun and that I would love to. I headed up the stairs, careful not to step on my cape, and headed out the door. As I walked back to my condo. I couldn't be happier. I had a woman's body, I was wearing a batgirl costume, I had two great jobs, I was going to learn magic and I had was going to meet people I suspected would be great friends to have. I continued walking, knowing full well that my life had changed for the better.
