she said its her "ori charas" which she meant was, "original characters" but yeah its hard to think so since, "o-ri cha-ra" look similar to japanese lettering. that got me confused too.

And what's wrong with her name then? Yuri's a common girl name as far as I know.

It's just that yuri usually describes a manga themed around girls loving one another. Usually paired with it's opposite, yaoi. (boys) There's nothing wrong with it, I'm all for equality, it's just that I'm not sure if this is what you intended.
