Description This is a bit of land art I did as part of my course. It is inspired by both my Christian faith origins and also my Pagan influences. For starters, the thorns represent those which Jesus wore on His head for His crucifixion, the poisonous red berries represent His blood and the leaves represent new life. There is a stark, ironic contrast between the fresh green leaves and the dead autumn leaves scattered around the piece. The piece is also in the shape of a circle, representing continuity and the ongoing of life. It also has strong connections with the spirituality and energy of the Earth... the circle around the tree feels almost like a protective circle of love.
