Chroma Feather normally has a crappy little piece of metal as a leg replacement. i took the liberty to give her a new, mechanical leg ^^

Very well executed cyber leg. Definitely see the synthetic muscles and attachment points. The hoof itself has me mildly perplexed, but I'm sure it will make more sense when colored. As for the rest.... see above.

I fear the amount of maintenance required to keep that leg in prime condition after using the bathroom or bathing. Is it a hassle to remove? Or does it link with their innate "pony magic"? Retiring the need to link their nerves into their prostheses?

no, the metal does not touch or go very near the plot 
it can be removed with the proper tools if needed, though it isn't designed to be easily removed, liek a regular body part, unless it is in need of extreme maintenance/repairs. it does connect to the nerves like you'd expect. i can't really enchant it since im not a unicorn, and not many unicorns would know anything about the right kind of enchantments for this kind of stuff anyway.
