Nidoking trundled across the sandy field, attempting to sniff out its prey. A sandslash had managed to escape from the pack it was hunting, and this wasn't the sort of nidoking that appreciated things getting away from it. Sandslash frenetically burrowed through the ground, trying to evade nidoking to prevent the creature's tremendous weight from collapsing the tunnel on top of sandslash. The hedgehog-like mole of a pokemon was fighting for its life against the hunter. That's when it occurred: -fight-. Sandslash whipped around, filled with resolve. It was small, it was fast, it could bring down the beast that had killed members of its family. Nidoking caught sight of the disruption in the ground from Sandslash turning around. Deciding to make the kill, the great purple monster swung its tail down furiously, ripping a gash in the ground and tearing out rocks and mounds of earth. Sandslash had managed to burrow just low enough to evade the attack, and took advantage of nidoking's momentary inability to move by bursting forth upwards out of the ground, flaying sand, dirt, and pebbles all over the place. Nidoking brought its massive tail around again, but the sandslash was, as it had supposed, faster than that. It had already flown above the mighty tail, and faced the beast dead in the eye.
