you wouldnt get in trouble. Fan art is acceptable. Manga/Anime companies even allow people to join their websites and post your fan art. But i do know companies don't like people making money off their characters w/o a license. I know it isnt easy to get in contact with someone but I usually start with the manufacturer of the products. like this site is for retailers only. They list the manufacturers [link] But I think if you want to pitch an idea you have to go through the owner of the anime/manga. I've been considering this myself.

fanart isn't always acceptable even if you aren't using it for profit. disney sued a daycare over having painted their characters on the daycare walls.
some companies in the u.s.a get crazy over that stuff. and i prefer to keep my head down and stay out.
and i don't know enough japanese to even send fan-mail to any mangka.

yes that's true. forgot about that. hopefully i can find someone to suggest my ideas too. I see alot of repeation n you can kinda only have soo many keychains, posters, n stuff. I'd like to see unique things. Perosnally I'd love to see anime/manga be taken to the same level as sports memorbillia like Flame Alchemist oven mits

i'd have to seriously make some Japan connects and push for that! I don't think the Japanese publishers realize the level of commitment of non-asian fans. Things like that would totally sell.

if you want shoot me a note on here. and i can work out the details on it for ya if you'd like. though that piece in particular is very expensive with my current equipment. due to the fact it has to start at 2ft in size and go up. it can't be made smaller.
