an AU idea I had where Steven's gem did reform as Pink after White removed it, I haven't worked out all the details yet, but in short Pink and Steven can't simply fuse back into one being like Steven and pink Steven did in canon (there is the prospect of trying to put Pink's gem back in place if they poof her, but Steven's against poofing her on purpose) sooonow Steven actually has his mom around
though in exchange for that he's now requiring intense medical care to keep him alive and walking without his gem Separated AU made by me

Personally, I've always prefered Rose as 'Rose' in these kinds of AUs, what with that identity being important to her as it was her own and separate from the Diamonds and the nearly 6000 she spent just as Rose Quartz. But this is too cute. I'm a total sucker for AUs like this either way.

She still goes by Rose, at least name-wise (but answers to Pink Diamond, or in Steven's case "Mom" as well) and I still want to give her a little outfit change that will most likely have quite some Rose-style influence, by the end it's supposed to be like she's both at the same time
I guess my true excuse to have her be Pink rather than Rose is truly just because I wanted to draw Pink and Steven interacting though 
(also I have not yet tackled trying to draw all of Rose's hair X'D)

In this AU, I could see Pink showing a lot of anger towards White. Since at that point, White either had control or was ready to destroy everything that Pink and Rose had cared for and/or created.

yeah, I haven't quite figured out yet how exactly all that would be resolved before they return to Earth, but one of my ideas was that Pink might end up exploding on White so hard that she poofs and bubbles her

Or, just a suggestion, it could be like Tangled. Pink has shown the lengths she is willing to go to escape. If White doesn't let Yellow Blue and her gems go, then she'll never stop fighting to get away.

that's definitely a possibility to consider...
I probably have a few "Steven forgets he no longer has powers" or "Pink reuniting with the CG and Greg" moments to get out of my system before I can figure out how exactly the whole thing with White played out, but I'll try to not just gloss over that important plot point XD

they wouldn't get healed then and all they ended up getting out of that arc in that case would be Steven's mom (and Yellow and Blue having gained a better understanding of Steven) in addition to ending White's rule over Homeworld to at least free the uncorrupted gems to let them live wherever they want eventually
I'm still considering whether or not I even want to go with that though or if I can figure out a way that Pink would get through to White in a similar way that Steven did in canon, both is possible at this point

seriously though, don't take it so serious, it's not even planned to be a story at all, more of a concept, to play purely with the idea that Steven gains his mom in exchange for his physical health and powers
and as much as the show likes to dive into psychological trauma and stuff, I'm only gonna dive as deep as I feel like, I might even only flesh out certain scenarios that I want to see for myself, like I said, this is more of a concept than a story, made purely for my own enjoyment
