~1-Renaissance thinks I've turned my back on the Redwall fandom. Well guess what, missy?! I can still draw mammals! I know I draw robots and humans, but here's an otter.

I know I butchered the otter's anatomy.. It's supposed to be Folgrim, from the Redwall book series by Brian Jacques; his insanity and hunger for rat flesh (and his missing eyeball, check it out) are freaking great. I remember drawing a load of fanart for that series, but for some reason, I can't figure out what I did with it all. FAIL.

Hey, just because you don't draw or write something as much as you used to, doesn't mean you don't like it anymore! i'm not writing Sonic fan-fiction or drawing Sonic characters, but I still love the little guy, even if most of the games are disapointing.

It's almost as if you're in the fandom for a while, build yourself up and grow confidence, learn a few things about art or writing, and then go "Ooooo!" and run towards something else-- but you never ever really turn your back on it, because it's what made you what you are now. And the nostalgia is awesome when you look back at it.

EXACTLY! And sometimes it helps to switch from one thing to another; somehow failing at Sonic characters made me REALLy good at Ninja Turtles, lol! And that's usually how I break my blocks of art/writing.

Yeah, when I first heard of his passing, I definitely didn't believe it because he had been a strong geezer who totally ruled.

I didn't believe it either . When I found out it was true, I laughed. Its a sort of defense mechanism to help cope with bad news. I didn't feel entirely sad, but still, it sucked that he was gone. And he certainly did rule .

Yeah, Tinj does this thing when she's mad: she laughs nervously for a few seconds, gets jittery and says something like "HEEheehEe LoOok! hEEheeE it'S BrOkkEn!!", and THEN after a few hours of normalcy she begins ranting and swearing at whatever broke.

BJ was one resilient old geezer, I'll give him that; guy kept on writing, no matter what.

Oh wow, that's something new about Alice . When I first told her about BJ's passing she did something similar, and asked me about 3 times if I was serious. We also put up a little shrine in the library, at the Redwall section. With BJ's picture, and a small index card saying, "Rest In Piece Brian Jacques" and the date of his death under it. I was surprised how many people actually went around there to read it . But wow , that's cute; the way you typed it out made it more funny.

Yeah , writing Mossflower when he was sick, and continuing to write even after getting a stroke about a year before the heart attack. True grit, never stopped doing what he loved for any reason .
