Description
Matt and Mono solemnly walk, float in Mono’s case, to an abandoned library nearby a haunted cemetery. Mono had died last week from a sledding accident with Matt (who has been left unharmed). Ever since, Matt has felt guilty, trying to find out how to revive Mono while his ghost follows him around everywhere he goes.
“Why are we here?” Mono questions Matt with agitation. Matt could tell that Mono is actually getting creeped out from his surroundings, which just seems silly since nothing can physically hurt him.
“I heard that forbidden spell books have been left here,” Matt says with hesitation towards his future actions. It has been rumored that the abandoned library was once a meeting site for warlocks who would practice dark magic. They were eventually cast away from the efforts of religious protesters. Ever since, the library has been unapproached, devoid of human attention due to being considered a “bad omen”. It has been distrusted by everyone living, thus the area around it became a spot for the dead to be buried and forgotten.
Upon Matt opening the creaky front door, the duo are immediately met with numerous large shelves of books. The shelves have been slowly breaking apart for years due to age, termites, and the weight of the books. The books, however, are different. Even though they have also suffered through age, they also appeared somewhat fresh as if they were barely ever used (probably because that is the case). Matt scans the books, occasionally looking into their content and being careful not to create too much noise from moving the books out of the creaking shelves, afraid they will fall apart if he pulled out a book too quickly. Mono floats in place the entire time, afraid of leaving without Matt and afraid of staying in the building.
“Ca-can we go now, please!” Mono shouts to his friend, trying his best to look tough. Matt did not listen, being too busy scanning through the books. After ten minutes, he considers going home from finding himself in a dead end. He looks down, afraid to disappoint his friend once more. Before he speaks to Mono, however, he finds a book that has been left on the floor before they even arrived inside the building.
“What’s this?” Matt picks up the book in curiosity; Mono floats right next to him to see the tome for himself. The book is titled “The Cycle of Life and Death” with surprisingly legibility despite age. Although the title seemed too simple to that for a magic book, the cover is also decorated with mystical, alchemist symbols. With intrigue, Matt carefully opens the book, eventually finding a page called “The Death of Intangibility”. The rest of the page is littered with what seems to be unstructured poetry.
“What does it say?” Mono asks. The wording for the rest of the page is given a small font, making it hard to read. As soon as Matt inched himself close enough to the book to see properly, he starts reading.
“I plead to give life to a life that which is lost. May that person, friend or foe, be given life once again,” Matt starts chanting without any knowledge that his lower torso has begun to shine a bright light.
“Uhh… Matt,” Mono tries to warn Matt, only to be left unheard. Matt, who has not been interrupted, chants in a higher-pitched voice.
“I sacrifice a portion of my life for that of another. My memories have been plagued with mourning and guilt.” Matt’s hair grows longer and his waist and chest grow larger, giving him a feminine appearance.
“Matt!” Mono screams at Matt, seeing that he is starting to fade out of existent. Matt, hearing Mono’s voice, looks at him and them at himself. Despite his urge to stop, however, an outside force from the book makes him continue to read the passage. He shouts the remaining words in a womanly voice as his remaining manhood vanishes.
“May this heart-break cease! May this person close to me be housed into my body rather than my mind!” Matt drops the book as “she” looks upward for no voluntary reason with bright light shining out of “her” eyes. The light that has shined from her lower torso intensifies and glares directly at Mono. Matt’s lower body bloats at the same time that the light forces Mono to vanish. The light leaves along with Mono, leaving Matt to be left alone and faint.
A minute later, Matt wakes up, still at the library. She jerks herself upward, worried as to where Mono left off to. Doing so made her instantly acknowledge the heavy weight near her waist. She looks down at herself, shocked that she can barely see her feet from the bulge that has taken place inside her. She realizes what has happened as soon as she felt something kicking her insides. Despite herself, she hugs herself, happy for the miracle.
“Matilda” leaves the library cheerfully and checks herself with a doctor at the nearby hospital. She finds that she has become a middle-aged pregnant woman; Mono has been given a second chance of life as her child. She feels bad for herself from the loss of a portion of her lifespan and feels bad for Mono since he will have to start over his life. However, she lives on with a smile from a combination of suddenly given maternal instinct and happiness for Mono’s well-being. Upon leaving the hospital, she visits Momo and Mona (Mono’s little sister and twin sister respectively). After Matilda proves to them that she was once Matt and that she is pregnant with their brother, they live together to help each other out with their new lives. Matilda will need a new life now that Matt is declared dead and the girls will need help raising Mono. Since neither of them have a mother of their own, they quickly adapted to Matilda’s presence, pretending that she was their mother as well. Matilda plays along with her “daughters”.
A year later, Mono was reborn as an infant less than a year old. He acts aggressively, unlike Mona and Momo, unhappy that he has to endure the humiliation of a second childhood. Matilda lifts up little Mono, to the amusement of his sisters, to take him to the living room, hoping to cheer him up with an episode of “Barney the Dinosaur” (he is too young to watch much else). Despite Mono’s attitude, his mother loves him as much as she loves her other daughters. The spell book never guaranteed that Mono would be reborn as a boy.
This story is based off of a chat between me and . ‘Matt’ is supposed to be me and monoprinny is Mono obviously; Mona and Momo are his OCs. I have made this caption with his permission. This isn’t exactly how the chat occurred, but the actual story would have been too random… and kind of paints me as the bad guy xD. Also, I will be making one more Kisekae TG AR caption and then I will use TG and AR separately for a while because I feel like I’m making too many of the same type of caption. Stay tuned!
