Description If a person dies, supposedly their life flashes before their eyes. Does this mean that Jesus, who shared a special connection to everyone on the planet, saw everyone who ever did and will exist flash before his eyes as he suffered and waned for hours on end?

A day late for Good Friday, but since when have I ever been able to submit anything on time anyway. -_-

This thing, surprisingly, is only about 5 x 8 inches long. Somehow I've managed to make a grand scale on a small amount of space. I like it!!

Some interesting conversation below:

"I think at least according to Christianity, he had a connection with people because he was their creator. But that doesn't mean he lived their lives. God and creation are separate in Christianity, so he would see his own life flash, 33 very peculiar years, though not those of others."

Well, if God is omniscient, and Jesus is God (part of the Trinity, or actually divine, depending on which denomination you ask) then I think it's reasonable to speculate that he could see into the lives of others. The Bible says he knew peoples' names and situations before they told him anything a good number of times.

I don't know that God and creation are "separate," per se. Maybe in the way that a painting is "separate" but at the same time part of the artist. And he's definitely not separate from humans specifically, as he dwells in each of us and knows our thoughts.

At least, coming from a Christian perspective.

I don't personally believe that God can see into the future with certainty or exact accuracy because of free will, so maybe I should qualify that if Jesus did see other lives, it was probably people that had already passed away or were alive at the time.

I think your drawing is strangely moving. I like the faces in the sky.

I didn't know how to respond to your previous comment, sorry.

I don't know. Who was Jesus? I think at least according to Christianity, he had a connection with people because he was their creator. But that doesn't mean he lived their lives. God and creation are separate in Christianity, so he would see his own life flash, 33 very peculiar years, though not those of others.

Thank you. ^_^

From my understanding, most denominations agree on the idea of the Trinity, that Jesus is part of it and that he is divine. You can find a reference here for that. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christia…

Yes, while I do not hold it firmly, I agree God would know all truths. So he would know what happened in everyone's life ( I take your point, everyone who has lived up to now I don't understand exact knowledge of teh future either). Just pointing out that even if he knows what happened, he wouldn't see what they saw since he lived his life and they lived theirs.

In the beginning, the Bible says, God created the heavens and the earth. Let me think through what this means for my own view (first time for everything!).. If God created the universe (heavens and earth) it means he isn't the universe right? The idea is he was existing even when the universe did not exist.

Which Christian denomination do you come from?

That is an excellent question, how can God know the future with accuracy given free will. I have philosophical videos that seek to explain that, but I don't understand them. Haha. Supposedly it makes sense to the higher ups. It is a modest claim you make, God knowing only what has happened. I like that.

As someone struggling with faith, this is a lovely drawing. You are certainly deserving of a fave.

That is really powerful and quite a change from your usual colorful style. The shading is really well done and I love the concept. Great job!

Heh, my picture of Gandhi was in black and white too. It's like fine china or something- for special occasions.
