Swamp Thistle fact: Ah yes, the swamp thistle, found ironically in swampy areas of the UK (or puddled patches of grass, they aren't that fussy). Slightly prickly, they will only "slightly maul your exposed leg" instead of mauling it to death like the grumpy Spear Thistle.

This happy little Swamp Thistle has a cheeky hover fly chowing down on its nectar. This mischievous scamp has chosen to disguise itself at a potter wasp. You can tell its a hover fly because it's not got 4 wings (it also didn't go beserk the moment I went near it).
