given how long these images are taking I decided to post this without the background which I may not bother adding. Like the colours in this one the hot and cold works quite well.done in ballpoint pen

ok the colours here are impressive. her skin and armour contrast well. i think it works well without the background.

no probs. i guess you could do, but its not essential. with things like that i usually only ever bother when i have spare time to waste. yes its true i rarely ever bother

same here, on a pc you can throw in a background quick but on paper the effort sometimes outweighs the outcome.

yup, its a shame but true. i have left backgrounds out on my drawings for to long, in the end i just left them out, which is why my digital backgrounds still look bad, being out of practice and all
