Description Yeah, that's right.

I checked the film credits, and Pokemon: Detective Pikachu was indeed produced
by the same film companies that ALSO gave us Godzilla: King of the Monsters.

Legendary Pictures, Check.

Warner Bros. Entertainment, Check.

Toho (yeah, Toho's name popped up in Detective Pikachu..and, NOT Nintendo for some reason.)

Actor Ken Watanabe in both films (granted, he had a better role in Godzilla, but STILL.)

Weirdly, this all makes a Godzilla/Pokemon crossover 'legally' possible.

But, I doubt that will happen. I mean, Pokemon and Godzilla are totally different.
One is about Monsters with various types of powers that fight each other, and the other is...

oh..oh, wow. they are kinda the same, actually.

Joking aside, this kinda makes the possibility for more Live-Action Pokemon films very good,
as when it comes down to it, any Detective Pikachu sequels will be paid for with the profits from Godzilla.

The more I look at this.
The more I wonder if it will ever happen.

I saw some elements of the Monsterverse creep into Pokemon when I re-watch Detective Pikachu.

Everyone's favorite is the "Giant Torterra" scene, which is compared to the Kaiju "Methuselah"
(which is a colossal Tortoise-like monster with entire mountains and a small forest growing over it's back.)

It does make me wonder how the Pokemon World would be effected if creatures like Godzilla existed
(apart from Arceus, Pokemon may worship Godzilla as a literal God just as ancient humans did.)

..And, obviously Mothra is the Goddess of all Bug-Type Pokemon.

This may work if both are in the same universe. I like Godzilla more often than Pokemon, the only Pokemon that I realize is Pikachu.

Another way that I look at it. The fact that Legendary had involvement with both of these, or well made both of them. Showcases the respect they gave to both Pokémon and Godzilla. But also yeah I should count Warner Bros. Yet it also gives me the idea if you give a franchise to Legendary, it's own good hands. Especially with Warner Bros. Alright sorry to sound weird.

But yeah I can agree for more live action Pokémon films. I remember they announced a sequels months ago. Which is great, even thought I wasn't huge on Detective Pikachu.
