I don't comment on LARP or cosplay as a rule, but this outfit definitely got my attention! Is the helmet 16-gauge? It looks really great. I am also impressed by the detailed leatherwork for the arms. Goes without saying that the riveted mail coat makes me green as a Warhammer ork with envy. (All I have is a bishop's mantle.

Thanks, i'm know something about khuzdul, and name of this dwarf is "Angrin" and his father is "Torgrin", and i called this picture 'baruk' because the "baruk" - it just "axe", and i stand with the axe on this picture.)

Cool, that makes much more sense... I was also wondering why that dwarf's name was "Axe," but I figured I'd leave that alone, since there are no canon Dwarf names in Khuzdul besides Mim and Khim, and they're Petty-Dwarves. For all we know, Baruk is a fairly common Dwarf name. *laughs*
But seriously, very, very good work. I'm curious, of what House is this Dwarf. The name sounds vaguely Sindarin-esque. That kind of rules out Longbeards, imo, since they mostly made use of names they swiped from the Northmen. I would think that he'd probably be from the Firebeards or Broadbeams, who lived in the Ered Luin during the First Age. It seems like that their "Outer Names" would be taken from Sindarin or be Sindarin in style, since that was the most prominent language with which they had regular contact.

Oh, wait, you already said he's from the Iron Hills. That almost certainly makes him a Longbeard, unless he's one of Firebeards or Broadbeams that fled the ruin of Beleriand and settled farther east with the Longbeards (or one of their descendants, which, honestly, is more likely, depending on the setting of your character).

The Firebeards were the Dwarves of the Ered Luin, who peopled Nogrod & Belegost. The Broadbeams lived in the Grey Mountains, but were driven out by the first appearance of the dragons in the Third Age. (Scatha's hoard most likely belonged to them, originally.) I imagine the Dwarves of the Iron Hills were mostly Broadbeams, ruled over by a branch of the Longbeards, along with a few Firebeards who settled in with Durin's Folk.

Very, very nice helmet; the entire costume is very well done.
One note about Dwarves in the Tolkien Legendarium, which you're free to take or leave: if he's really from the Iron Hills he won't share a name in the Dwarvish language, unless he's an outcast from his society, and has decided to eschew that particular Dwarvish custom. Its very, very deeply ingrained in their culture. They don't even put their real names on their graves. Names like Durin, Thorin, Balin, Gimli, etc... are taken from the language of the Northmen who lived nearby, whose language was represented by Tolkien as real Old Norse.

Torgrin sounds very Norse to me, except that I have usually seen it spelled "Torgrim". It could be a Norseman dialect. Angrin sounds like a "mixed" name in the style of Men, like for example Boromir.
Or did you think that Baruk was the Dwarf's name?

Well, as I hadn't recalled smever seeing this particular artist's work before, and the axe wasn't prominently featuredin the picture, I thought that Baruk was the Dwarf's name, yes. I found it curious.
As for the name Torgrin, I'm no expert in Norse, Old or Modern, so thanks for letting know about that. I had assumed it was an original name. Thanks for that bit of info.
