The older brother sighed, a look of defeat on his face. "I didn't get to ask my question, lil' bro."
"Don't call me that."
"Sorry. I just...haven't gotten used to it..." Mario sighed, looking down at the ground. "I just...I still can't-"
Luigi scoffed. "Well, you better get used to it. This isn't time for conversation." He glanced over his shoulder to look at Mario, quickly turning away and shaking his head. "Get back to work. Mistress Daisy won't be happy with me if she sees you not working."
Mario growled, swinging a fist down. "It's always about her now, isn't it? Why can't we go back to the way things used to be? The time when you weren't some sick dictator and had such a kind heart? Why, Luigi? Why did you change all of that?"
Luigi paused, lowering the hand that held his clipboard. Slowly turning to face Mario, he narrowed his eyes in disgust. "Why?" he asked in a mocking tone, stepping closer towards Mario. His older brother began to take slow steps back, eyes wide in surprise. "...After all these years and you ask me why?" Growling, he looked away. "...I was right. You never realized it. Pathetic."
Mario raised a hand towards his little brother. "What..."
Swiftly, Mario's hand was smacked away. "You really DON'T get it? You overshadowed me all those years! They all put me down, mocked me, ridiculed me like I was a kid! But I won't take that kinda behavior anymore! My chances of being noticed were here with Mistress Daisy. And this time, I won't let ya ruin it for me!" The younger boy threw his clipboard down in a fit of rage, silencing all of those around him.
Mario stared at him, eyes wide and skin pale in terror. He began to step closer to Luigi, a sudden need to comfort him welling up in him. He looked past the raging boy in front of him, seeing the timid, cowardly boy he really was deep down. Outstretching his arms for a hug, he could feel the tears rising into his eyes. "No, it's not the time to cry..." he assured himself. "...L-Luigi... It's okay, I promi-"
Luigi pushed him away with the remaining strength he had. "Don't you DARE touch me! Just...get back to work, you selfish parasite!" He looked over to those still staring at him from their stations, their faces frozen in shock. "You too! All of you, get back to work this instant!" He stormed away from his brother, muttering to himself.
"I...I don't understand..." Mario whispered to himself, the tears once again rising in his eyes. "Only a few years ago, you were such a sweet kid...caring, timid, lovable..." He felt the tears slowly running down his face, wiping them away with a bloodied sleeve. "You were s-such a normal...outstanding kid...and I..." He paused for a moment. "...I ruined it... G-God...Lil' bro...
...I-I'm so sorry..."

awoken and i am octavia kinda made me do this oops
so it's kinda like a flower factory au? it's like rainbow factory but mario version? so like daisy owns the flower factory, where toads, yoshis, whatever, are kidnapped and brought to the factory to be drained of their colors and blood and use these to make flowers along with a few of their guts. luigi, her loyal assistant, is basically in charge of all the workers, making sure they're working and punish them in some form if they aren't (this can include killing them). over time, luigi started to grow a lot colder than before, abandoning his past personality for this new one. mario, one of the workers, never liked the change, and despite countless times that he's tried to escape, it hasn't worked, almost risking death at one point because of it. luigi grew apart from him, and mario hasn't been able to bring them together again, so yeah, that's basically it.
