Haha, are you kidding me? Who made that shitty rule up? Centering the subject is great for symmetry, balance and a general feeling of calm and simplicity. This drawing is very nicely framed and the low, dramatic focus point would be entirely ruined if you were to add more space to either side of the canvas.
