Description As the last hours preceding dawn approached, the members of the Avalon Clan realized that their sister had not returned. Though blind, Cordelia was like any other gargoyle and could doubtlessly sense the coming of the sun... something was amiss. It was thus that Gabriel sent out two of their clanmates to find Cordelia and return her to the castle safely or call for them should they encounter trouble on the shore.

After a short search, they found her... and to their surprise, she was not alone. Beside her was a gargoyle they had never seen before, who looked as though he had climbed from the depths of the sea itself. Wary of newcomers after the last attack on their home by the Archmage and the magically-controlled Demona and Macbeth, the two landed and confronted the pair. Though startled at first, Acaeileus was gracious enough to begin his story anew -- and Cordelia was inwardly happy to simply listen to his beautiful voice once again.

Love the cameos here. If nothing else, a certain blue-haired gargess probably lent them a wind to help with the search but stayed behind to wrangle the kids.

And I have every intention of giving Musei-goyle a cameo in another gargoyles pic in the future.

Wow oh wow!  It's always a real delight to see my dashing underwater young Atlantean gargoyle warrior, and the new leader of the Mediterranean Clan.  Fantastic job on the coloring job, and I know for a fact, Acaeileus enjoys telling all kinds of stories.  The Avalon Clan would greatly benefit from a highly-skilled mage, knows how to keep both humans and gargoyles safety in the water, while he will be delighted to teach proper fighting in the gargoyle way, and swimming.  I wonder what Gabriel would think of Acaeileus, yet Princess Katherine and the Guardian, Tom would be pleased for Coredelia to find a new friend, and a possible soon-to-be mate later on, while startled to learn about a clan of undersea gargoyles.

Thank you! I imagine most of the Avalon Clan would welcome him as family, as they would just about any gargoyles who came to the island. Naturally there are some, like the two featured in the picture, who'd need a little more convincing that he was genuine before they accept him.  Acaeileus' abilities and willingness to help out with the clan would be a big factor in that, though.

And I imagine Tom and Princess Katherine would be pleased to know that there were yet more gargoyles in the world, though being from under the waves and from a clan directly attached to the 'mythological' Atlanteans would no doubt be a shock to everyone. Cordelia, certainly, would be fascinated.

You're very much welcome, Ranchan.  It's going to be very exciting for the Avalon Clan would certainly welcome Acaeileus as family, so they would be eager to trade news with the new-comer to the island.  Every gargoyle which has been under an attack by magic like the 2 gargoyles behind Acaeileus and Coredelia would need a bit more convincing that the young undersea gargoyle warrior is genuine before they welcome him to Avalon.  I know that all of Acaeileus's willingness to teach the Avalon Clan proper gargoyle fighting skills (I'm certain Tom would enjoy it too as a useful means to protect Princess Katherine and his eggs.), swimming water safety, as well as a highly-skilled mage would be a very positive factor in accepting him, agreed.

Yes it would make the Princess Kathrine, and her love, the Guardian of the Eggs, Tom do become very pleased to discover there are other gargoyle clans around the world, while Acaeileus is a young gargoyle warrior who is from underneath the ocean, and is from an underwater gargoyle group, the Mediterranean Clan is directly attached to the well being of the fabled world of the 'mythological' Atlanteans would become a huge shock to everyone after a wonderful breakfast, and a friendly chat to the rest of the Avalon Clan. I think Coredelia, would become really full of questions, and become so fascinated by the fact of a race of superhuman blue skinned underwater humans.

Gabriel stretched his entire figure as well as his large bat wings as his 3-horned gargoyle mate pointed out to 4 gargoyle shadows flying towards the castle.  One of the gargoyles' huge wings kept on wobbling since Acaeileus wasn't completely familiar to gliding in the air as a concerned Coredelia kindly took his large webbed right hand as he slowly spread his huge manta ray wings to their fullest length.  The dusky amethyst undersea gargoyle muttered an angry curse in Grecian and modern Atlantean from the slight drag of his dolphin tail.  It appeared that landing on the sand or upon the land of Greece was no different!  Tom and Katherine joined the rest of the Avalon Clan into the vast courtyard.  Gabriel gasped as Acaeileus caped his large manta ray wings, and gave a courtly bow, while Coredelia explained to her sea-green rookery brother, and the leader of the Avalon Clan why she didn't return back home to the castle. A new visitor!

"Who are you, and where is your clan from?" the elderly Princess Katherine smiled kindly as she offered a cup of freshly brewed herbal tea to Acaeileus who gave a nod of thanks.  His large manta ray wings began to itch from being caped for so long as he slowly unhooked the wing finger digits.  The tea smelled a little bit different from the way Lion (the leader of the Athens Clan) or Saber (leader of the Rome Clan) brewed it.  Gabriel studied Acaeileus as he put in a little spoonful of sweet honey, and a pinch of salt as he stirred it again.  How to carefully explain everything to the 2 humans, and the Avalon Clan about Greece, Rome and the undersea kingdom of Atlantis being in an alliance?

"I am Acaeileus, and I've been the new leader of the Mediterranean Clan near the coastlines of Greece.  You've probably guessed I'm an underwater gargoyle warrior," Acaeileus stated as his natural current of electricity, and pale amber magic leapt in little sparkling waves.  Acaeileus hoped this clan would exchange gliding lessons for what he could teach them.

"I am so very sorry that I worried you, my brother," Cordelia said as her pale, sightless eyes cast downward out of habit. Since her hatching, she had always felt that she held others back with her handicap even though her siblings and their human protectors never made her feel as such. As a young hatchling, she had often tried to overcompensate and usually found herself worse off than she had before.

Her rookery siblings, Juno (the red gargess) and Laertes (the deep green gargoyle), were among the few to usually chastise her for overstepping herself. The discovery of Acaeileus, however, had put whatever admonitions they may have had on hold for the moment... something for which Cordelia was secretly grateful.

"... But Acaeileus called out to me from the sea, lost and confused. I... I simply could not leave him there."

Cordelia could not help the small smile she could feel playing upon her lips as she spoke with Gabriel. She could hear Acaeileus introducing himself nearby, and already knew most of his story from what he had told her -- the biggest reason for her delayed return. Her intial fear and apprehension had slowly given way to surprise, then fascination. She had practically run the Magus to madness, when he was alive, with her endless desire to hear his tales and those of their 'lost' kin. When he finally shooed her away, insisting he had no more stories for her, she had turned to Princess Katherine and Tom for more.

And now, it seemed as though she had stepped into a tale of her own.

Juno, on the other hand, was still apprehensive of the water-borne gargoyle who had washed up on their shores. While the coming of Goliath had given both comfort and new life to their clan with the idea of no longer being isolated, alone and near extinction... it had also shown that the outside world was a frightening place. Her own mate had been one of those seriously wounded by Demona and Macbeth, and he still bore the scars on his face as a testament to the attack.

The fact that they now shared the island with the Fae also made her exceedingly nervous. How were they to know Acaeileus was truly a gargoyle at all, and not a shapeshifter seeking their destruction for his own amusement? Oberon had, effectively, forbidden his children from quarreling with their clan since he named them his isle's Honor Guard... but the Fae were tricky, and good at bending their Father's rules.

"Why are you here?" she finally blurted out as she idled near Princess Katherine protectively. Though the Princess had grown more gentle in her years from the haughty young royal she had been, Juno had taken quite well to emulating the refinement of the Princess... as well as some of her former demanding nature.

"And moreso, how? You must have magic, to have crossed the veil and come here!"
