"Oliver?"

Your voice echoed loudly in the silence. The empty Queen building was only half lit, the other side shrouded in darkness.

The reason you were walking around this empty, abandoned warehouse was because Oliver had asked you to meet him here.

He called you a while ago, when you were at work. His voice sounded jumpy and off but you just put it down to bad signal.

You walked through a puddle and suddenly, the lights flickered, once, twice and then they went out completely, leaving you in the pitch black.

Moonlight filtered through the broken roof, creating long, jagged shadows. Somewhere, you heard a rat scurrying around, looking for food.

You walked further forward and kicked a stone.

With no warning, a group of bats flew from the ceiling around your head. You shrieked as the wings and you and then they flew off into the night.

"Oliver, if you're playing a joke on me this isn't funny!" Your slightly scared voice bounced back at you from all sides.

Somewhere in the distance a fog barked and then you heard footsteps in the warehouse.

You sighed in relief, "Finally. I thought you'd stood me up."

You waited for Oliver to come to you but he didn't. You frowned and stepped forward.

Suddenly, a large grabbed yours. You screamed and a hand pressed over your both so hard, you scream quietened to a muffled cry.

"Well, well, Mr tall, dark and handsome has himself a lady friend does he?" A breath tickled your ear making you cringe.

You struggled to get free but the creep pulled you tighter, "I like a woman who struggles."

Anger trailed down your spine and you brought your knee up high, then smashed it into your captor's knee.

He screamed in pain and let go of you. You darted away, facing him and assuming a fighting stance.

"You've just made this difficult now, princess."

"I'm not your princess." You snarled, getting angry.

The guy laughed and walked towards you, "Oh, but you will be." The he jumped at you, surprisingly fast.

You kicked out at him, making him stumble and then aimed a high kick at his ribs.

He growled, "i really don't want to have to hurt you."

You said nothing, just moved to punch his head.

He was faster than you though and he caught your hand. He lowered it and then twisted it, making you spin around so your back was to him.

He pulled your arm again, making your shoulder hurt.

You tried to get away but he just wrapped and arm around your neck, both hands holding on to the back of your head, ready to break your neck.

"Stop!!" A familiar voice rung out.

You stopped struggling and your keen eyes picked out a hooded figure, hanging in rafters above you.

"Oliver.." Your voice was no more than a whisper but the creep heard it.

He chuckled evilly, "Aw, your knight has come to save the day. Isn't that sweet."

You struggled but he pulled your neck back, making you squeak.

You heard the sound of an arrow being strung, "Don't even move!" Oliver's voice was dark and menacing.

The guy chuckled again, "Relax, I'm not going to hurt your pretty little girl. I'm here to deliver a message."

"What?" That once word showed fury and warning. You knew that tone well.

"Stop looking for the mirakuru. No one will be saved. The more yo look, the more your friends will die."

Oliver jumped down and landed a couple of meters away, "i will not stop looking. It infected my friends. And I will find a way to save them. Deliver that back to your master."

The messenger considered this for a moment then pulled something out of his pocket, "I guess I didn't make myself clear enough. STOP." Then he yanked your neck to the side and jammed a needle into it. A cold, thick liquid seeped through your veins. You screamed and terror settled in your stomach as you guessed what it was.

"No!!" Oliver ran forward.

The messenger chuckled and confirmed what you already knew, "See if you can save her."

So you were right. Mirakuru.

The messenger laughed and then e was gone. You dropped to the floor.

Oliver ran the last steps and dropped to the ground, his bow at his side. He pulled you onto his lap as white hot pain blossomed in your body.

"______, I'm so sorry! I'm sorry!" Oliver was frantic and his hood had fallen back. He yanked off his mask and you saw fear in his blue eyes.

You arched your back, certain you were on fire as the pain spread over your body. It felt as though every bone and muscle was melting.

Tears streamed down your face, "Oliver! Make it stop! Please, it hurts! Olly it hurts - so much!" Your voice broke as you screamed again.

Oliver felt his heart break as he looked down at you, writhing, tears on your face and your ____ eyes dark with agony.

"Make it go away..."

Oliver reached behind him and pulled out a tranquiliser arrow. "Are you sure?"

You nodded through the haze of agony.

Oliver pulled up your sleeve and dragged the arrow tip across your arm, but not too deep.

Almost immediately, you stopped writhing and your eyelids drooped.

Oliver tenderly wiped the tears from your face and brushed your hair away from your eyes, "____ I promise you. I'll stop it from happening. I'll find a way to cure you. I'll save you. I promise."

Your head dropped to the side, resting on his leg and your eyes closed.

Oliver stroked your hair and you heard him whisper, "I love you, _____. Never ever forget that."

Then the sedative pulled you under and you fell into sleep...
