Description I can't believe I actually forgot to share this beauty! These are my main Slytherin OCs, set during the Marauder's era, and were drawn by the utterly lovely mochibii95  <3

From left to right they are:

Athene Medora Crowley: Will not hesitate to hex you.
  • The name "Athene"  is a variation of the name Athena, the Greek Goddess of war and wisdom. She was described as being the shrewd companion of Heroes and the patron Goddess of Heroic endeavour. Her Roman counterpart was Minerva, also worshipped as a Goddess of wisdom. The name "Medora" is of greek origins and means ruler.
  • Her surname Crowley derives from the English Crowley meaning "wood of crows". The Irish "O Cruadhlaoich" or "Ua Cruadhlaoich", a Gaelic name meaning "descendant of the hard hero" or "descendant of the hardy warrior", was anglicised to "Crowley" or "O'Crowley"

Hilda Parkinson: You forget she's there but she doesn't.

  • The name 'Hilda' (pronounced HIL-də) is one of several female given names derived from the name Hild, formed from Old Norse hildr, meaning "battle". Hild, a Nordic-German Bellona, was a Valkyrie who conveyed fallen warriors to Valhalla. Warfare was often called Hild's Game. The name became rare in England during the later Middle Ages, but was revived in the 19th century. In Sweden it has been in use since the late 18th century, being a popular name throughout the 19th century. Hilde is a variant of Hilda. Another variation on Hild is Hildur.
  • Parkinson is an English surname meaning "son of Parkin", with Parkin itself being a diminutive form of the given name Peter, which comes from the Greek petros, meaning "rock" or "stone".

Eoforhild Urquart: Too glamurous for most.

  • Eoforhild' is an Anglo-Saxon name meaning "wild boar battle maiden," from Old English eofor "boar" and hild "battle."
  • Although not spelled the same, it is possible this last name is a reference to another Scottish clan - Clan Urquhart. This is a Highland clan, and if there is in fact a link, this name would include a reference to both the Scottish Highlands and the Scottish Lowlands. It is also of interest that Urquhart Castle is on the banks of Loch Ness, home of a kelpie known as the Loch Ness Monster.
